The Maine Celtics acquired Derrickson on March 8. They will not expect much from him though, considering many of their other forwards have more G League experience than he does.

Marcus Derrickson: Cut loose by Skyhawks
The Skyhawks waived Derrickson on Tuesday.
Derrickson's waiving comes as a bit of a surprise given how large his role has been for the SkyHawks this season. Over 40 games (37 starts), the 6-foot-7 forward has averaged 13.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 27.8 minutes per contest.

Hawks' Marcus Derrickson: Inks deal with Atlanta
Derrickson agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Hawks on Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Undrafted out of Georgetown in 2018, Derrickson played 67 total minutes with the Warriors as a rookie last season, racking up 46 points, 13 rebounds, one block and one assist. He spent most of the season in the G League, where he posted 13.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists across 27.2 minutes. Derrickson also appeared in six summer league games with the Kings in 2019, averaging a modest 4.7 points and 3.0 rebounds. While neither the Kings nor the Warriors wanted to take a flier on Derrickson this season, the rebuilding Hawks will give him a shot.

Arguably one of the most anonymous two-way players in the G League at the moment, Derrickson continues to see about 27 minutes a night, averaging 13.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 32 games with Santa Cruz this season.

Warriors' Marcus Derrickson: Perfect from line for G League club
Derrickson played 23 minutes and tallied 15 points (3-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds and two assists Wednesday in the G League Santa Cruz Warriors' 116-82 win over the Austin Spurs.
Derrickson, an undrafted rookie out of Georgetown, has split time between Santa Cruz and Golden State this season while playing on a two-way contract. The parent club has only called upon him for six appearances, however, and it's unlikely he'll be needed for extended minutes in the near future with DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) set to make his season debut Friday against the Clippers. Expect Derrickson to see most of his action with Santa Cruz moving forward.

Warriors' Marcus Derrickson: Returns from G League
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Monday that the team would recall Derrickson from the G League's Santa Cruz Warriors, Mark Medina of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Derrickson will provide the Warriors some added depth in the frontcourt with Damian Jones (pectoral) facing an extended absence, Draymond Green (toe) likely to miss the remaining three games of Golden State's road trip and Alfonzo McKinnie (foot) not expected back until at least Wednesday's game in Cleveland. Kevon Looney, Jordan Bell and Jonas Jerebko should be the primary beneficiaries of increased playing time due to the extensive injuries, but a minor role in the rotation could open up for Derrickson along the way. The undrafted rookie out of Georgetown has suited up in just two games with the NBA team this season, playing nine minutes in total.

Derrickson will get the start at power forward for Friday's exhibition game against the Kings, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.
Derrickson, a training camp invitee by the Warriors, will draw his first start Friday. It looks like head coach Steve Kerr is just mixing things up to see how they mesh. The Geogretown product had an impressive summer in Las Vegas, and is likely heading toward a G-League stint once the season tips off.

Derrickson posted 10 points (4-10 FG 2-5 3Pt) and three rebounds over 12 minutes in Saturday's 114-110 loss to the Timberwolves.
The 6-7 Georgetown product had an encouraging summer in Las Vegas and signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Warriors in the offseason. While it[spossible we will see more of him in the preseason, it's likely that he'll join the G-League once the season begins.
