Ridgeway (calf) was placed on IR on Wednesday.
Ridgeway will miss at least four games as a result of this move, so his earliest return date will be Week 6 against the Saints. Houston is on bye the following week, so there's a good chance the veteran defensive tackle won't play again until Week 8 or later. Ridgeway was injured in the season opener against the Ravens.

Ridgeway (groin) participated Tuesday at OTAs, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Ridgeway was dealing with a hamstring issue at the beginning of OTAs, but he appears to have put the issue behind him. The 2016 fourth-round pick signed a deal with Houston this offseason after recording 28 tackles and a sack across 12 appearances for the 49ers in 2022.

The 49ers placed Ridgeway (pectoral) on injured reserve Thursday.
Ridgeway will finally head to IR after he suffered a pectoral strain in Week 13 versus Miami. The seventh-year defensive tackle will now have to miss at least the remaining four regular-season games, though his 6-to-8-week recovery timeline likely figures to keep him out through the first week of the playoffs. With Kevin Givens also expected to miss multiple weeks after spraining his MCL in Week 14, backups T.Y. McGill and Akeem Spence should be in line for larger roles alongside Arik Armstead moving forward.
