  • Browns' Reggie Ragland: Done for Week 18

Ragland (shoulder) will not return Sunday against the Steelers, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Ragland suffered the injury in the first half, and he was unable to return for the second. In his absence, Jermaine Carter and Tae Davis will both likely see extra opportunities in the Browns' regular-season finale.

  • Browns' Reggie Ragland: Questionable to return

Ragland exited Sunday's game against the Steelers with a shoulder injury, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Ragland apparently sustained this injury sometime during the first half of Sunday's regular-season finale. The veteran linebacker has appeared in three games for Cleveland since being signed off the Raiders' practice squad, amassing 12 tackles over the previous two contests. In his stead, Jermaine Carter and/or Tae Davis will likely step into bigger roles alongside starting linebackers Deion Jones and Tony Fields.

  • Browns' Reggie Ragland: Collects 10 stops, most since 2018

Ragland recorded 10 tackles (seven solo) in Saturday's 17-10 loss to the Saints.

Despite having played just 33 defensive snaps in Week 16 versus New Orleans, Ragland paced Cleveland with 10 stops which accounts for his highest total in that department since he logged 12 tackles back in the 2018 postseason when he suited up for Kansas City. While the Browns continue to deal with a plethora of injuroes to their linebacker corps, this opens things up for the 252-pounder to handle more snaps alongside Deion Jones and Tony Fields for the time being.

  • Browns' Reggie Ragland: Signed off Raiders' practice squad

Ragland was signed to the Browns' active roster off the Raiders' practice squad Wednesday.

Ragland will replace Sione Takitaki (knee) on the active roster after Takitaki was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Ragland has yet to appear in a game this season, but he produced 67 tackles and two pass deflections while recovering a fumble over 17 games with the Giants in 2021. The 29-year-old will operate as the Browns' second option at middle linebacker behind Deion Jones moving forward.

  • Giants' Reggie Ragland: Strong day vs. Saints

Ragland notched eight tackles (four solo) during the Giants' win over New Orleans in Week 4.

Ragland tallied season-high totals in terms of both tackles and defensive snaps (77 percent) in Week 4. He will look to continue building on his momentum during Sunday's divisional contest against the Cowboys.

  • Giants' Reggie Ragland: Returns to practice

Ragland (hamstring) was removed from the non-football injury list Thursday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

Ragland missed just over a week to begin camp due to his hamstring injury, but he passed his physical Thursday and appeared in practice without pads. The 2016 second-rounder will now shift his focus toward preparing for the Giants' preseason opener against the Jets on Aug. 14.

  • Giants' Reggie Ragland: Placed on NFI list

Ragland (hamstring) was placed on the non-football injury list on Tuesday.

Ragland joined the Giants on a one-year contract this offseason. The veteran linebacker has only missed six games over the course of his four-year career but the hamstring issue will be something to keep an eye on as training camp progresses.

  • Giants' Reggie Ragland: Links up with G-Men

Ragland signed a one-year contract with the Giants on Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

After spending three years in Kansas City and capturing a Lombardi Trophy during the 2019-2020 season, Ragland appeared in all 16 games for the Lions last year while collecting 52 tackles and a sack. The 27-year-old now takes his talent to the Meadowlands, where he will immediately compete for a starting role at the center of Patrick Graham's defense. Ragland has only whiffed on three of a possible 85 tackling opportunities the past two seasons, according to Pro Football Reference.

  • Lions' Reggie Ragland: Records 52 tackles

Ragland totaled 52 tackles, one sack, one pass breakup and one forced fumble over 16 games in 2020.

While Detroit's linebacking corps was arguably the worst in football in 2020, Ragland flashed as someone who could set the edge and also put pressure on the quarterback in pass-rush situations. While he topped 50 percent of snaps in only six games, there's certainly a case to be made that Ragland should have seen more playing time as Detroit, game after game, instead tried to justify its investment in 2019 second-round pick Jahlani Tavai. In any case, Ragland seemingly did all that he could in 2020, and the unrestricted free agent shouldn't have a problem landing another contract this offseason.

  • Lions' Reggie Ragland: Will play Thursday

Ragland (ankle) is active for Thursday's clash against Houston.

Ragland entered Thursday with a questionable tag, but he'll be available for the Thanksgiving battle. The linebacker has yet to miss a game in his first season with Detroit, registering 32 tackles (20 solo), one sack and a forced fumble thus far.
