  • Giants' Reggie Ragland: Strong day vs. Saints

Ragland notched eight tackles (four solo) during the Giants' win over New Orleans in Week 4.

Ragland tallied season-high totals in terms of both tackles and defensive snaps (77 percent) in Week 4. He will look to continue building on his momentum during Sunday's divisional contest against the Cowboys.

  • Giants' Reggie Ragland: Returns to practice

Ragland (hamstring) was removed from the non-football injury list Thursday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

Ragland missed just over a week to begin camp due to his hamstring injury, but he passed his physical Thursday and appeared in practice without pads. The 2016 second-rounder will now shift his focus toward preparing for the Giants' preseason opener against the Jets on Aug. 14.

  • Giants' Reggie Ragland: Placed on NFI list

Ragland (hamstring) was placed on the non-football injury list on Tuesday.

Ragland joined the Giants on a one-year contract this offseason. The veteran linebacker has only missed six games over the course of his four-year career but the hamstring issue will be something to keep an eye on as training camp progresses.

  • Giants' Reggie Ragland: Links up with G-Men

Ragland signed a one-year contract with the Giants on Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

After spending three years in Kansas City and capturing a Lombardi Trophy during the 2019-2020 season, Ragland appeared in all 16 games for the Lions last year while collecting 52 tackles and a sack. The 27-year-old now takes his talent to the Meadowlands, where he will immediately compete for a starting role at the center of Patrick Graham's defense. Ragland has only whiffed on three of a possible 85 tackling opportunities the past two seasons, according to Pro Football Reference.

  • Lions' Reggie Ragland: Records 52 tackles

Ragland totaled 52 tackles, one sack, one pass breakup and one forced fumble over 16 games in 2020.

While Detroit's linebacking corps was arguably the worst in football in 2020, Ragland flashed as someone who could set the edge and also put pressure on the quarterback in pass-rush situations. While he topped 50 percent of snaps in only six games, there's certainly a case to be made that Ragland should have seen more playing time as Detroit, game after game, instead tried to justify its investment in 2019 second-round pick Jahlani Tavai. In any case, Ragland seemingly did all that he could in 2020, and the unrestricted free agent shouldn't have a problem landing another contract this offseason.

  • Lions' Reggie Ragland: Will play Thursday

Ragland (ankle) is active for Thursday's clash against Houston.

Ragland entered Thursday with a questionable tag, but he'll be available for the Thanksgiving battle. The linebacker has yet to miss a game in his first season with Detroit, registering 32 tackles (20 solo), one sack and a forced fumble thus far.

  • Lions' Reggie Ragland: Headed for Motown

Ragland reached an agreement Friday to sign with the Lions, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Selected by Buffalo in the second round of the 2016 draft, Ragland suffered an ACL injury during his first training camp and was traded to Kansas City a year later. He went on to start 32 of his 42 games the past three seasons, but he largely served as an early down specialist, recording 160 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one interception. The 26-year-old linebacker isn't likely to establish IDP value in Detroit, but he could push Jarrad Davis, Christian Jones or Jalen Reeves-Maybin for playing time. Jamie Collins is the only Lions linebacker that can safely be projected for a three-down role.

  • Chiefs' Reggie Ragland: Falls out of rotation in 2019

Ragland finished the 2019 regular season with just 30 tackles (23 solo), though he did post a career-high 2.0 sacks.

Ragland recorded a career-low 237 defensive snaps in his third professional campaign, a massive drop-off from the 581 he played a season ago. Ragland did play a significant role in the Chiefs' first two playoff games and may explore opportunities with other clubs as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

  • Chiefs' Reggie Ragland: Returns fumble for TD

Ragland had two solo tackles, a sack and returned a fumble five yards for a touchdown in Thursday's win over the Broncos.

The Chiefs terrorized Joe Flacco all evening as the team racked up nine sacks, and Ragland's scoop-and-score during the second quarter was about as easy as they come. The 26-year-old played only 25 of 67 defensive snaps Thursday, which is the first time he's played double-digit snaps on defense this season.

  • Chiefs' Reggie Ragland: Progresses in second season

Ragland notched 86 tackles (46 solo), a half-sack and an interception during 2018.

Ragland was limited to just 12 games and 323 defensive snaps as a rookie, but those numbers increased to 16 and 581, respectively, in 2018. He's still removed from the field when the defense utilizes nickel and dime packages, preventing Ragland from matching the likes of Anthony Hitchens, who totaled 945 defensive snaps. With both likely returning in 2019, prospective fantasy owners shouldn't anticipate another jump in production during Ragland's third season.

  • Chiefs' Reggie Ragland: Retakes field

Ragland (hip) has returned to Sunday's game against the Raiders, Brooke Pryor of The Kansas City Star reports.

Ragland briefly left the field during the second quarter due to a hip injury, but has retaken the field to begin the second half. The third-year linebacker slots back into his usual starting role.
