Dee Delaney: Gets look from Carolina
The Panthers hosted Delaney for a tryout Tuesday, Howard Balzer of USA Today reports.
Delaney was let go by the Bills with an injury settlement Sept. 2 after suffering a knee injury in Buffalo's preseason finale. He appears to be fully healthy, and he'll look to catch on with a team in need of depth in the secondary. Delaney played for the Buccaneers in 2023, and he finished with 25 tackles (17 solo) and five pass defenses (including two interceptions) across 17 regular-season games.

Dee Delaney: Out in Buffalo
The Bills released Delaney (knee) off injured reserve with an injury designation Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
The veteran safety was placed on IR in late August after sustaining a knee injury during the Bills' preseason finale, but he was removed after the two parties reached an injury settlement Monday. Delaney is now free to sign elsewhere once he proves that he's moved past his knee issue.

Delaney (knee) was placed on the Bills' reserve/injured list Sunday.
Delaney injured his knee late in the fourth quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the Panthers, finishing the game with three tackles. He will now be forced to miss the entire 2024 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Buffalo.

Delaney was injured on the Bills' penultimate defensive series in the middle of the fourth quarter, finishing the game with three tackles. He's been a longshot to make Buffalo's 53-man roster as a depth secondary piece, and the injury he sustained Saturday lowers those chances even more.

Bills' Dee Delaney: Signs with Buffalo
The Bills signed Delaney on Thursday, Nick Wojton of BillsWire.com reports.
With Jordan Poyer having been poached by Miami and Micah Hyde eyeing retirement, Buffalo is understandably scrambling to restock at safety ahead of the season. Delaney recorded 25 tackles (17 solo) and two interceptions with Tampa Bay last year.

Buccaneers' Dee Delaney: Signs tender with Tampa Bay
Delaney signed his one-year tender with the Buccaneers on Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Delaney was an exclusive rights free agent and now will officially be tied to Tampa Bay for the 2023 campaign. The 28-year-old appeared in all 17 games last season and registered 29 tackles (25 solo) while playing both on defense and special teams. With Sean Murphy-Bunting having left for Tennessee, Delaney could be in line to compete for a bigger role this fall.

Buccaneers' Dee Delaney: Good use of extra snaps
Delaney registered five tackles (four solo), including one for loss, during the Buccaneers' 20-18 loss to the Steelers in Week 6.
Delaney bumped up a spot on the depth chart with Sean Murphy-Bunting (quadriceps) unavailable and delivered a competent performance that included a tackle tally good enough to qualify for fourth best on the afternoon for Tampa Bay. The robust 51 snaps Delaney played served as his first from scrimmage this season, and with Murphy-Bunting missing the first session of Week 7 prep Wednesday, Delaney could be headed for another busy afternoon against the Panthers on Sunday.

Buccaneers' Dee Delaney: Ready to play Monday
Delaney (concussion) is active for Sunday's game versus the Giants.
Delaney suffered the concussion last week against Washington, but he was able to clear the necessary protocols in order to suit up Monday. The 26-year-old could have a reduced defensive role with Sean Murphy-Bunting (elbow) freshly activated off injured reserve.

Buccaneers' Dee Delaney: Not returning Sunday
Delaney has been ruled out of Sunday's game with a concussion, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Delaney just can't seem to shake the injury bug of late, as he was questionable prior to kickoff with an ankle problem and now he departed the contest with a concussion. Delaney will have to be cleared by an independent doctor and will need to go through the league's protocol to determine whether he'll be available for a Week 11 Monday night matchup against the Giants.
