Broncos' De'Vante Bausby: Comes up big down stretch
Bausby collected three tackles and three passes defensed during Thursday's 38-27 win over the Jets.
Bausby has been buried down as CB4 or CB5 since returning to the active roster, but he got his chance in the second half Thursday once head coach Vic Fangio decided to move Bryce Callahan in the slot. Bausby promptly helped shut down Chris Hogan and batted down three passes -- at least one of which was a near-interception. Bausby looked good in limited action last season before going down with a neck injury. Expect him to be CB3 heading into Week 5 against the Patriots depending on the health of A.J. Bouye (shoulder).

Broncos' De'Vante Bausby: Elevates to 53-man roster
The Broncos promoted Bausby to their 53-man roster Wednesday.
Bausby had resided on the team's practice squad through the first week of the season, after he racked up 13 tackles and three breakups in five games last season with the Broncos. Bausby played under head coach Vic Fangio in Chicago during the 2016 season, so his familiarity could thrust him into snaps as early as Sunday against Tampa Bay. The team placed A.J. Bouye (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday, so at the very least Bausby will add depth at the position.

Broncos' De'Vante Bausby: Returns to Denver
Bausby agreed Wednesday with the Broncos on a one-year deal, Benjamin Allbright of KOA 850 AM Denver reports.
The deal is reportedly for at or near the veteran minimum. Bausby picked up 13 tackles and three breakups in five games last season, including two starts, before suffering a scary neck injury against the Chargers in Week 5. Bausby had a prior relationship with head coach Vic Fangio dating back to their time together in Chicago in 2016. He knows the defense and figures to compete with Isaac Yiadom for the nickel role behind newly-acquired A.J. Bouye and Bryce Callahan. Don't be surprised if the Broncos look for additional corners in free agency and the draft, which might push Bausby into a dime or CB5 role.
