  • Colts' Kasen Williams: Has strong preseason debut

Williams had three receptions for 46 yards in Thursday's preseason win at Seattle.

Williams is a long shot to win a roster spot, but he had a nice showing. However, Williams' action came in the second half with the third- and fourth-string offense. The final wide receiver spots on the Colts are wide open at this point.

  • Colts' Kasen Williams: Signs with Colts

Williams signed a contract with the Colts on Friday, Liz Matthews of USA Today reports.

Williams spent time with the Browns in 2017, recording 84 yards on nine catches in seven games. He'll face tough competition at the receiver position, though he could catch on in a depth role for Indianapolis in 2018.

  • Kasen Williams: Waived by Browns

Williams (knee) was waived by the Browns on Monday.

After appearing in seven games and catching nine passes for 84 yards with the Browns in 2017, Williams was signed to a reserve/future contract in January. Now, should he clear waivers as expected, he will become an unrestricted free agent.

  • Kasen Williams: Signs reserve/future contract with Browns

The Browns signed Williams (knee) to a reserve/future contract Monday.

Williams appeared in seven games for the Browns in 2017, accruing nine catches and 84 receiving yards in seven games. Although he ended the season on the practice squad injury list due to an unspecified knee injury, Williams has plenty of time to recover in time for offseason workouts in April.

  • Kasen Williams: Hits practice squad IR

The Browns placed Williams (knee) on the practice squad injury list Tuesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Times reports.

The exact nature of Williams' knee injury isn't certain. Cleveland filled his spot on the practice squad with fellow wideout C.J. Board.

  • Browns' Kasen Williams: Cut loose by Cleveland

The Browns will waive Williams on Thursday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Williams' dismissal likely paves the way for fellow wideout Corey Coleman (hand) to return from injured reserve in advance of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Since turning in back-to-back four-reception outings in Weeks 5 and 6, Williams had seen his role within the Cleveland passing attack fall by the wayside, earning one total target over the Browns' subsequent three contests.

  • Browns' Kasen Williams: Paces team in receptions Sunday

Williams brought in four of six targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 33-17 loss to the Texans.

With Kenny Britt (knee, groin) sidelined once again, Williams was able to log four catches for the second straight week. The 24-year-old's reception and yardage totals paced the Browns, and he clearly seems to have a developing rapport with quarterback Kevin Hogan. Given Britt's struggles when he's been on the field and Williams' encouraging performances over the last pair of contests, he's certainly a fantasy piece to monitor in the coming weeks, irrespective of who lines up behind center.

  • Browns' Kasen Williams: Four receptions Sunday

Williams was targeted five times and managed four receptions for 33 yards in Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Jets.

Williams had his best game of the season Sunday, as he was one of the main focal points of Cleveland's offense with both Corey Coleman (hand) and Kenny Britt (knee/groin) sidelined. Still, with inept quarterback play, Williams doesn't provide much in terms of fantasy value and should be ignored until further notice.

  • Browns' Kasen Williams: Heads to bench Week 2

Williams (coach's decision) is listed as inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Ravens.

Williams was active Week 1 against Pittsburgh but failed to haul in his only two targets and logged just 12 offensive snaps. The Browns will try something different Week 2, sending Williams to the bench and instead activating Rashard Higgins, who was recently promoted from the practice squad.

  • Browns' Kasen Williams: Expects more opportunities

Williams said that he anticipates earning more opportunities in future weeks after playing just 12 snaps in the Browns' season-opening loss to the Steelers, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Though he was on the field for just 18 percent of the Browns' offensive snaps, Williams was involved when his number was called, seeing two targets but failing to haul in either of them. With Kenny Britt seemingly in coach Hue Jackson's doghouse after a crucial drop in the opener, it wouldn't be a shock to see Williams get a boost in playing time against the Ravens on Sunday.

  • Kasen Williams: Claimed by Browns

The Browns claimed Williams off waivers Sunday, Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports.

A 2015 undrafted free agent, Williams spent most of the past two years on Seattle's practice squad prior to breaking out for a 13-208-1 receiving line this preseason. He seemed to have a roster spot locked up once the Seahawks traded Jermaine Kearse, but the team only kept five wideouts and Williams wasn't one of them. Richard Sherman expressed displeasure on Twitter, perhaps capturing the sentiment of the entire team. In any case, Williams may actually have a better opportunity in Cleveland, where 2016 fourth-round pick Ricardo Louis currently profiles as the No. 3 receiver behind Kenny Britt and Corey Coleman. It isn't hard to imagine Williams making a quick push for the third or fourth spot on the depth chart.

  • Kasen Williams: Waived by Seahawks

The Seahawks waived Williams (undisclosed) on Saturday.

Williams worked often with the first-team offense in the preseason, gobbling up nine of 13 targets for 208 yards and one touchdown overall. With a roster spot more or less expected, he made a surprise appearance on the Seahawks' list of cuts Saturday. While he initially had an injury designation attached to his name, he was actually exposed to plain old waivers, so a spot on the team's practice squad is likely, assuming no other team makes a claim on the wideout.
