Williams' dismissal likely paves the way for fellow wideout Corey Coleman (hand) to return from injured reserve in advance of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Browns' Kasen Williams: Paces team in receptions Sunday
Williams brought in four of six targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 33-17 loss to the Texans.
With Kenny Britt (knee, groin) sidelined once again, Williams was able to log four catches for the second straight week. The 24-year-old's reception and yardage totals paced the Browns, and he clearly seems to have a developing rapport with quarterback Kevin Hogan. Given Britt's struggles when he's been on the field and Williams' encouraging performances over the last pair of contests, he's certainly a fantasy piece to monitor in the coming weeks, irrespective of who lines up behind center.

Williams was targeted five times and managed four receptions for 33 yards in Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Jets.
Williams had his best game of the season Sunday, as he was one of the main focal points of Cleveland's offense with both Corey Coleman (hand) and Kenny Britt (knee/groin) sidelined. Still, with inept quarterback play, Williams doesn't provide much in terms of fantasy value and should be ignored until further notice.

Though he was on the field for just 18 percent of the Browns' offensive snaps, Williams was involved when his number was called, seeing two targets but failing to haul in either of them. With Kenny Britt seemingly in coach Hue Jackson's doghouse after a crucial drop in the opener, it wouldn't be a shock to see Williams get a boost in playing time against the Ravens on Sunday.

Kasen Williams: Claimed by Browns
The Browns claimed Williams off waivers Sunday, Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports.
A 2015 undrafted free agent, Williams spent most of the past two years on Seattle's practice squad prior to breaking out for a 13-208-1 receiving line this preseason. He seemed to have a roster spot locked up once the Seahawks traded Jermaine Kearse, but the team only kept five wideouts and Williams wasn't one of them. Richard Sherman expressed displeasure on Twitter, perhaps capturing the sentiment of the entire team. In any case, Williams may actually have a better opportunity in Cleveland, where 2016 fourth-round pick Ricardo Louis currently profiles as the No. 3 receiver behind Kenny Britt and Corey Coleman. It isn't hard to imagine Williams making a quick push for the third or fourth spot on the depth chart.

Kasen Williams: Waived by Seahawks
The Seahawks waived Williams (undisclosed) on Saturday.
Williams worked often with the first-team offense in the preseason, gobbling up nine of 13 targets for 208 yards and one touchdown overall. With a roster spot more or less expected, he made a surprise appearance on the Seahawks' list of cuts Saturday. While he initially had an injury designation attached to his name, he was actually exposed to plain old waivers, so a spot on the team's practice squad is likely, assuming no other team makes a claim on the wideout.
