  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Imperfect in victory

Pineiro went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and made all three of his PATs during Sunday's 24-14 win over Denver.

Pineiro made his first field-goal try of the day in the second quarter, converting a 24-yard chip shot. The kicker later had a 54-yard attempt blocked by the Broncos, tagging him with his second missed field-goal attempt of the year. Pineiro has now gone 4-for-6 on field-goal tries, including 2-for-4 from 50-plus yards, while also converting 14 of 16 extra-point attempts over four contests so far in 2026.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Misses two extra points

Pineiro connected on a 57-yard field-goal try but only went three of five on extra-point attempts in Sunday's 36-30 win over the Cardinals.

Pineiro had not missed an extra point in 2026 coming into Sunday. He has nonetheless made 11 through three contests, so he's getting regular scoring opportunities in the 49ers' high-powered offense.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: No field goals in romp

Pineiro did not have any field-goal tries but converted on all five of his extra-point attempts during Sunday's 35-13 win versus the Dolphins.

In a game where Miami's defense was picked apart by quarterback Brock Purdy, Pineiro's services were barely needed. San Francisco is off to a scorching start in 2026, and there's not much reason to think the Cardinals defense will be the one to slow the momentum Week 3.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Good to go against Miami

Pineiro (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Pineiro drew the questionable tag due to an illness, but he's been cleared to play in Sunday's home opener. He went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts and connected on all three of his extra-point tries during the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Rams.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Expected to play Sunday

Pineiro (illness) is expected to be active Sunday against the Dolphins, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The 49ers ended up trying out two kickers Saturday -- Greg Joseph and Younghoe Koo -- but won't sign either of them to the practice squad, meaning Pineiro will handle his normal placekicking duties in Week 2. In 15 regular-season games with San Francisco going back to the 2025 campaign, Pineiro has netted 30 of 32 field-goal attempts and 37 of 41 point-after tries.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Questionable for Week 2

Pineiro (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Pineiro has been battling an illness during Week 2 prep and thus is in danger of sitting out Sunday. Coach Kyle Shanahan told Matt Barrows of The Athletic on Friday that the 49ers will sign a kicker to the practice squad and then elevate him in the event Pineiro isn't able to play this weekend, but who that kicker may be isn't known.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Remains sidelined at practice

Pineiro (illness) was a non-participant at the 49ers' practice Thursday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Pineiro has missed consecutive practices to open the week as he battles an illness, and his status for Sunday's matchup against Miami remains in question. The 31-year-old will have one more chance to practice Friday. If he can't go this week, San Francisco will have to sign a free agent to handle the team's starting kicker role for Week 2.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Misses practice with illness

Pineiro (illness) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

It's not clear exactly what kind of sickness Pineiro is dealing with, but he does have until Sunday to get better. His status will still be worth keeping an eye on when San Francisco publishes its Thursday and Friday injury reports, as the team does not carry another kicker on its active roster or its practice squad.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Goes 2-for-3 on FG tries Thursday

Pineiro converted two of his three field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in the 49ers' season-opening 27-7 win against the Rams.

Pineiro opened the scoring with a chip-shot 20-yard FG in the first quarter. His second field goal was much more difficult, as he nailed a 56-yarder early in the fourth. Pineiro had one more FG try, but he hit the right upright on a 52-yard attempt late in the fourth quarter with the game essentially in the bag for San Francisco. All in all, it was a successful season opener for the veteran kicker, whose six field goals from 50-plus yards out last season marked a career high. San Francisco's offense looked to be in good form against a tough Rams defense Thursday, so Pineiro could be in for plenty of opportunities in 2026.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Accounts for all points in win

Pineiro made all six of his field-goal attempts in Thursday night's 18-12 preseason win over the Raiders.

Pineiro had a flawless performance, accounting for all 18 of the 49ers' points in the contest. The kicker converted attempts from 24, 25, 48, 59, 51 and 54 yards away. Pineiro has now been perfect in back-to-back preseason contests while going 3-for-3 on kicks of 50 yards or more.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Perfect in blowout win

Pineiro converted five PAT's and two field-goal attempts in Thursday night's 41-17 preseason win over the Chargers.

Pineiro made field goals from 48 and 45 yards out and was ultimately flawless on all seven kicks. The seventh-year veteran out of Florida looks set to carry over the momentum from a stellar 2025 season where he made 28 of 29 field-goal attempts and 34 of 38 extra-point tries over 14 regular-season games.

  • 49ers' Eddy Pineiro: Staying in San Francisco

Pineiro and the 49ers agreed to a four-year, $17 million contract Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Pineiro took over for beleaguered kicker Jake Moody in San Francisco in Week 2 of the 2025 campaign and ended up connecting on 28 of 29 field-goal attempts and 34 of 38 point-after tries in 14 regular-season games. Pineiro's mark of 8.4 points per contest ranked fifth among NFL placekickers with at least that many appearances, and the 30-year-old now is locked in as the 49ers' kicker through 2029.
