Steelers' Travis Homer: Sees minimal action Thursday night
Homer posted two carries for negative one yard during Thursday's 27-24 loss to the Browns.
With Rico Dowdle (toe) out for a second consecutive contest, Homer had an opportunity for more involvement. However, the 2019 No. 204 overall pick didn't do much of relevance, appearing in just two of the Steelers' 72 offensive snaps, finishing well behind Jaylen Warren (70). Even if Dowdle misses more time moving forward, it's hard to imagine Homer doing anything to benefit fantasy managers if Warren is active.

Steelers' Travis Homer: Signs to active roster
The Steelers signed Homer from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
Homer was elevated for the Steelers' Week 2 loss to the Patriots, playing two offensive snaps and 10 special teams snaps in the game while logging two rushes for 16 yards. The running back could be the primary option for the Steelers in the Week 3 contest against the Bengals. Jaylen Warren (shoulder) is listed as questionable and Rico Dowdle (toe) has been ruled out, meaning at worst Homer will be the No. 2 option.

Steelers' Travis Homer: Reverts to practice squad
Homer reverted to the Steelers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Homer is likely to be elevated again for the Steelers' Week 3 matchup against the Bengals due to the injury to Rico Dowdle (toe). Homer had two carries for 16 yards coupled with 10 special-teams snaps in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. The veteran back should serve as the No. 3 backfield option behind Jaylen Warren and Eli Heidenreich if Dowdle cannot suit up for next Sunday's contest.

Steelers' Travis Homer: Elevated for Week 2
The Steelers elevated Homer from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
Homer is set to suit up for Sunday's game against the Patriots. The running back has logged 1,286 special-teams snaps in the regular season since being drafted in the sixth round by the Seahawks in 2019. The 28-year-old has likely been elevated to assist the Steelers' special teams unit while Jaylen Warren, Rico Dowdle and Eli Heidenreich take care of the rushing offense.

The Steelers signed Homer to the practice squad Monday.
The Steelers released Homer during Sunday's cutdown day. Homer was quickly invited back to the team's practice squad due to a strong training camp. Steelers' Travis Homer: Signing with Steelers
Homer is slated to sign with the Steelers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
In 10 regular-season games with the Bears in 2025, Homer recorded just one carry and three catches, and with the Steelers he'll remain in a depth role in a backfield that also includes Jaylen Warren, Rico Dowdle and Kaleb Johnson. Additionally, Homer could emerge as a core special teamer for Pittsburgh, with Mike DeFabo of The Athletic noting that the 5-foot-10, 211-pounder -- who joined the league as a sixth-round pick by Seattle in 2019 -- is a potential kick-return option for his new team.

Homer did not record an offensive statistic in the Bears' 19-16 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
Homer finished the season appearing in 10 games and recorded one rushing attempt for minus-two yards, with no receptions. He totaled just seven offensive touches across three seasons with the Bears while contributing primarily on special teams, offering no fantasy relevance. He is set to hit free agency.

Bears' Travis Homer: Relegated to special teams Sunday
Homer played all 18 of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 42-38 loss to the 49ers.
Homer suited up as the Bears' No. 3 running back but, as per usual, he didn't receive any reps on offense behind D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai and continued to offer most of his utility on Chicago's coverage units. For the season, Homer has played just six total snaps on offense and has carried once for minus-two yards over his nine appearances.

Bears' Travis Homer: Limited to open Week 16 prep
Homer (ankle) was a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough practice.
Homer picked up an ankle injury during the Bears' Week 14 loss to the Packers, which prevented him from playing in Sunday's win over the Browns. He'll have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation and give himself a chance to return for Saturday's NFC North tilt against Green Bay. When healthy, Homer has mostly contributed on special teams while providing backfield depth behind D'Andre Swift and rookie seventh-rounder Kyle Monangai.

Bears' Travis Homer: Out for Week 15
Homer (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Browns.
Despite upgrading from a DNP on Thursday to limited practice Friday, Homer won't be available for Sunday's contest. The 27-year-old is now in line to miss his seventh game of the season. With Homer ruled out, D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai are currently the only running backs on the Bears' active roster without an injury designation for the Week 15 matchup.

Bears' Travis Homer: Misses practice again
Homer (ankle) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
This marks Homer's second consecutive absence from practice as he deals with an ankle issue he picked up in the Bears' Week 14 loss to the Packers. The reserve running back and special-teams asset has one more chance to upgrade his practice participation before Sunday's game against the Browns, and he'll likely need to show some improvement Friday to suit up for the game.

Bears' Travis Homer: Nursing ankle injury
Homer (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday's walkthrough practice, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Homer likely picked up the injury during the Bears' Week 14 loss to the Packers, when he logged 16 snaps on special teams without showing up on the box score otherwise. He'll need to return to practice in at least a limited capacity over the next two days in order to have a realistic shot at playing Sunday against the Browns.

Bears' Travis Homer: Contained to special teams Sunday
Homer logged all 16 of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 28-21 loss to the Packers.
Since sitting out a Week 12 win over the Steelers with hamstring and knee injuries, Homer has returned to his usual role on special teams. Homer is the Bears' No. 3 running back, but Chicago won't be compelled to give him snaps on offense outside of garbage time while both D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai are healthy.
