Bears' Isaiah Coulter: Inks futures deal
Coulter signed a reserve/future contract with the Bears on Tuesday, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.
Coulter spent Weeks 11 and 12 with the active roster and received one target, but he was unable to haul it in. He then spent two weeks in COVID protocols and was restored to the Bears' practice squad on Dec. 28, according to Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston. Coulter will now work to make a bigger impact with the Bears next season.... See More ... See Less
Isaiah Coulter: Placed on practice squad COVID list
The Bears placed Coulter on the practice squad COVID-19 list Thursday.
Coulter wasn't expected to play a role in the Bears' Week 15 matchup with the Vikings, but with Allen Robinson hitting the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, the team will look elsewhere for a wide receiver to elevate to the active roster. In two games this season, the 23-year-old has logged 15 offensive snaps, failing to reel in his only target.... See More ... See Less

Coulter is expected to sign with the Bears on Sunday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Coulter was cut by Houston on Aug. 16, but it didn't take long for him to find a new team. As a rookie in 2020, Coulter appeared in only one game and played six offensive snaps with the Texans.... See More ... See Less
Isaiah Coulter: Time in Houston at an end
The Texans cut Coulter on Monday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Coulter, a 2020 fifth-round pick, only logged on appearance as a rookie, and it appears that the Texans have already given up on his development. In his sole career appearance, Coulter played just six offensive snaps. Another club may be willing to give the former University of Rhode Island standout an opportunity.... See More ... See Less
Texans' Isaiah Coulter: Active but DNP
Coulter did not play in Houston's season-ending loss to the Titans on Sunday.
The Texans expended decent draft capital on Coulter, selecting him in the fifth round of the 2020 draft, but he barely touched the field, getting just six snaps and no targets in a Week 14 loss to the Bears. It wasn't a good sign that he was edged out for playing time by practice squad players when the Texans were desperate for bodies at wideout over the final weeks of the season. The Texans are interested in re-signing Will Fuller (suspension), who becomes an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, and have veterans Brandin Cooks, Randall Cobb and Keke Coutee on existing contracts, so there may not be a spot for Coulter in 2021. The organization will have a new general manager and head coach though, who presumably will want to shape the roster as they see fit.... See More ... See Less

Coulter (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
The fifth-round rookie from Rhode Island made his NFL debut Week 14 against the Bears, however, he went without a target on a limited workload of six offensive snaps. Texans' Isaiah Coulter: In lineup for Week 14
Coulter is active for Sunday's matchup against the Bears, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
No. 1 wideout Brandin Cooks (neck/foot) has been deemed inactive for Week 14, opening the door for Houston's depth receivers to become more involved. Coulter, Keke Coutee, Chad Hansen and Steven Mitchell are all likely to see an uptick in usage, with Will Fuller (suspension) and Randall Cobb (toe) also unavailable Week 14. The fifth-round rookie from Rhode Island hasn't yet made his NFL debut, with a neck injury keeping him sidelined for the first half of the season.... See More ... See Less

Coulter (coach's decision) won't suit up in Sunday's game against the Colts, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
With Will Fuller receiving a six-game suspension this week and Randall Cobb (toe) on injured reserve, Coulter was expected to step up. It's unclear why Coulter was deemed to be a healthy scratch for the contest, but he may be moving down the depth chart at the receiver position. Coulter will need to wait another week to make his NFL debut, but with the Rhode Island product sidelined, Steven Mitchell is expected to be the third option at receiver behind Brandin Cooks and Keke Coutee.... Texans' Isaiah Coulter: Should see more work
Coulter is expected to see more reps moving forward following news that Will Fuller has been suspended for the rest of the season, Aaron Reiss of The Athletic reports.
Last week, the Texans placed Randall Cobb (foot) on IR and cut Kenny Stills (quadriceps). The extended absence of Fuller should open to door for Coulter to finally get some tread in the Texans' offense, as he's vaulted to the No. 3 wide receiver spot on the depth chart behind Brandin Cooks and Keke Coutee. The rookie fifth-round pick was quite productive in his final season at Rhode Island, producing a 72-1,039-8 line over 12 games, but he hasn't had a chance to showcase his skills with the Texans. Coulter should make his NFL debut this Sunday against the Colts.... See More ... See Less

Coulter moves up the depth chart for Thursday's game against the Lions, as both Randall Cobb (toe) and Kenny Stills (quadriceps) have been ruled out.
Coulter, a 2020 fifth-round pick out of Rhode Island, is the fourth receiver on the depth chart as the Texans prepare for the Thanksgiving Day matchup in Detroit. He could see his first NFL action. Coulter opened the season on injured reserve and was activated ahead of Week 9, but he's been inactive for the three games since joining the active roster.
