Jaden Smith: Cut loose by Tampa Bay
Smith was waived by the Buccaneers on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Smith missed the entirety of the 2025 campaign while on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury, and he'll now hit the open market. The wide receiver wasn't waived with an injury designation, meaning that he has moved past whatever he was dealing with. Smith entered the league as an undrafted free agent last year after wrapping his collegiate career at Nevada, and he'll look to latch on with a new team in an attempt to make his NFL debut in 2026.

Buccaneers' Jaden Smith: Reverts to IR
Smith (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Smith will spend the 2025 season on IR after going unclaimed on waivers. He signed with Tampa Bay in July as an undrafted rookie out of Nevada.

Jaden Smith: Waived/injured by Buccaneers
Tampa Bay waived Smith (undisclosed) on Friday with an injury designation, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Smith will be set to revert to season-ending IR if he goes unclaimed on waivers. The nature and severity of the 6-foot-6 former Nevada standout's injury remain undisclosed, but if he does revert to IR, the only way Smith will be eligible to play in 2025 is by reaching an injury settlement with the Buccaneers.
