A pair of Southeastern Conference powers meet when the ninth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide battle the eighth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners in a College Football Playoff first-round matchup on Friday. Alabama is coming off a 28-7 loss to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 6, while Oklahoma finished with a 17-13 win over LSU on Nov. 29. The Crimson Tide (10-3), who were tied atop the SEC regular season standings at 7-1, are 4-2 against ranked opponents this season. The Sooners (10-2), who tied for fifth in the conference at 6-2, are 5-1 against ranked foes.
