  • Carson Benge RF | NYM

Mets' Carson Benge: Three hits in twin bill

Benge went 3-for-7 with a double and an RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against Atlanta.

The Mets managed only eight hits in total in the twin bill, but they still came away with a split as Benge's RBI double in the seventh inning of the matinee proved to be the game-winning knock. The rookie outfielder is putting the finishing touches on a strong July that's seen him deliver a .282/.360/.410 slash line through 21 games with four doubles, two homers, five steals, nine RBI and 10 runs.

  • Andy Pages CF | LAD

Dodgers' Andy Pages: Lifts homer Wednesday

Pages went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Mariners.

Pages was able to log his first multi-hit effort since July 11 versus the Diamondbacks. He started the scoring Wednesday with a first-inning homer and added an RBI single in the fourth. The outfielder is now batting .267 with a .795 OPS, 18 homers, 71 RBI, 63 runs scored, 10 stolen bases, 22 doubles and two triples over 107 contests. Pages has hit safely in 15 of 22 games during July but is batting only .250 (20-for-80) this month.

  • Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: Pops 24th home run

    Crow-Armstrong went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 3-2, 10-inning loss to the Cardinals.

Crow-Armstrong looked like the hero when he launched his 24th home run of the season in the top of the 10th inning to give the Cubs a 2-0 lead. However, Trent Thornton blew the save and wasted Crow-Armstrong's potential heroics. Fantasy managers will take the power all the same, and the talented young outfielder is approaching his second straight 30-homer, 30-steal campaign. He's also sporting a robust .920 OPS, which would easily be a career best.

  • Griffin Conine RF | MIA

Marlins' Griffin Conine: Provides clutch pinch-hit homer

Conine went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies.

Conine entered as a pinch hitter for Brian Navarreto in the eighth inning with the game tied and promptly launched a two-run homer off Jonathan Bowlan, providing the eventual winning runs. The outfielder has homered six times over his last 16 games while batting .319 during that stretch. Through 42 games this season, Conine owns a .277 batting average and a .925 OPS.

  • Marlins' Heriberto Hernandez: Clubs 16th home run

Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies.

Hernandez jumpstarted Miami's eight-run comeback by taking Jesus Luzardo deep for a two-run homer in the fifth inning. The slugger has stayed productive since the All-Star break, homering three times and batting 13-for-50 (.260), but he also has a 39.2 percent strikeout rate across 12 contests. Through 79 games this season, Hernandez is slashing .241/.308/.486 with 16 home runs, 12 doubles, one triple, 43 RBI, 29 runs scored and seven stolen bases.

  • A.J. Ewing CF | NYM

Mets' A.J. Ewing: Idle for second game of twin bill

Ewing is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Atlanta.

Ewing went 1-for-2 with two steals, a run and an RBI in the Mets' 3-2 win in the first game of the twin bill. He'll hit the bench for the second contest of the day while Tyrone Taylor, Luis Robert and Carson Benge start in the outfield from left to right.

  • Lars Nootbaar LF | ARI

Cardinals' Lars Nootbaar: Not starting versus lefty

Nootbaar is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Cubs.

The left-handed-hitting Nootbaar starts fairly often versus lefty pitchers, but he will begin Wednesday's festivities on the bench as the Cubs deploy southpaw Matthew Boyd as their starting pitcher. Jose Fermin will patrol left field and bat sixth for St. Louis.

  • Troy Johnston RF | COL

Rockies' Troy Johnston: Exiting starting nine

Johnston is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in San Diego.

The Padres are going with a lefty opener (Kyle Hart) before turning to a right-handed bulk reliever (Griffin Canning). While the left-handed-hitting Johnston will begin the contest on the bench, he's a candidate to enter mid-game when Canning or another righty takes over. Colorado has Jake McCarthy in right field and Hunter Goodman at designated hitter.

  • J.J. Bleday LF | CIN

Reds' JJ Bleday: Sitting versus southpaw

Bleday is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Guardians.

The left-handed-hitting Bleday plays against most southpaws, but he will begin Wednesday's game on the bench as the Guardians send lefty Joey Cantillo to the hill. Ivan Johnson will cover left field for the Reds.

  • Drew Gilbert CF | SF

Giants' Drew Gilbert: Taking seat against southpaw

Gilbert is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

The left-handed-hitting Gilbert was on the bench against a righty (Logan Henderson) for Tuesday's 8-2 loss and will remain out of the lineup again for the series finale while southpaw Thomas Pannone toes the rubber for Milwaukee. Grant McCray will get the start in center field for the second straight day, after he filled in as the starting right fielder in the prior two contests while Jung Hoo Lee managed an elbow injury.
