  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Mets' Sean Manaea: Stung by Rays

Manaea (4-7) took the loss Tuesday, giving up five runs on 11 hits and a walk over 5.2 innings as the Mets fell 6-2 to the Rays. He struck out two.

It was the first time all season Manaea had allowed double-digit hits and four of them went for extra bases, including a Yandy Diaz solo shot in the sixth inning that helped chase the veteran lefty from the game. Manaea's midseason resurgence seems to have petered out -- he's been tagged for at least four earned runs in four straight trips to the mound, sagging to a 7.23 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 16:6 K:BB over 23.2 innings during that stretch. He'll try to turn things around in his next start, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Miami.

  • Paul Skenes SP | PIT

Pirates' Paul Skenes: Stumbles against Giants

Skenes didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's wild 13-12 win over the Giants, coughing up five runs on eight hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

An anticipated pitchers' duel between Skenes and Logan Webb never materialized, as the San Francisco ace got chased from the game in the third inning, while his Pittsburgh counterpart couldn't escape the fifth. Skenes has been able to complete six frames just once in his last seven starts, limping to a 5.77 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 41:18 K:BB through 34.1 innings over that stretch with an 0-3 record. He'll try to get back in the win column in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Angels.

  • Logan Webb SP | SF

Giants' Logan Webb: Keelhauled by Bucs

Webb escaped with a no-decision in Tuesday's wild 13-12 loss to the Pirates, surrendering nine runs on nine hits and two walks over two-plus innings. He struck out one.

Pittsburgh put nine runs on the board in the third inning without getting any extra-base hits, chasing Webb from the game after seven straight batters reached base on five singles and two walks. It was his shortest outing of the season, and the nine runs allowed were a career worst for the right-hander. Webb is struggling to get to the finish line in 2026 -- he's failed to last three frames in two of his last three starts, with his ERA rising from 3.50 to 4.21 during that rough stretch. He'll try to turn things around in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come on the road this weekend against the Mets.

  • Gabriel Hughes SP | COL

    Rockies' Gabriel Hughes: No-decision Tuesday

Hughes allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four across 4.2 innings Tuesday against the Orioles. He didn't factor into the decision.

Hughes held the Orioles to one run but couldn't make it through the fifth. The Orioles loaded the bases with two outs in that frame, prompting Colorado to summon Brennan Bernardino, who retired Gunnar Henderson to preserve the 2-1 lead. Hughes lowered his ERA to 6.19 with this outing, and this was the first time he didn't give up multiple earned runs since July 22. Hughes projects to make his next start on the road against the Yankees next week.

  • Luis De Leon SP | BAL

Orioles' Luis De Leon: Takes loss in MLB debut

De Leon (0-1) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Rockies after allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit while striking out one over one inning.

De Leon entered the game in the seventh and the first batter he faced, Mickey Moniak, reached on a fielding error from Jackson Holliday before TJ Rumfield smacked a two-run homer to put the Rockies up for good. De Leon could continue seeing work out of the bullpen, but unless he gets into the mix for holds or saves, he won't carry much fantasy appeal.

  • Kyle Bradish SP | BAL

Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Allows two runs in no-decision

Bradish didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Rockies. He allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings.

Bradish ran into trouble in the second inning, when Adael Amador opened the scoring with a two-out solo homer before Zac Veen tripled and scored on Jake McCarthy's RBI single. However, the right-hander kept the Rockies off the board over his final three frames, including working around a double and a walk in the fourth. While Bradish didn't factor into the decision, he still delivered a respectable performance in a tough environment in Colorado. This was a bounce-back effort after he allowed seven runs over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals his last time out. Bradish lines up to make his next start over the weekend at home against the Red Sox.

  • Nick Lodolo SP | CIN

Reds' Nick Lodolo: Delivers quality start Tuesday

Lodolo didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings in a 4-3 victory over the Padres. He struck out five.

It was Lodolo's first quality start since July 5, and his best performance since returning from the IL in mid-August with a new grip on his breaking ball to try and avoid further blisters. Over five starts since being activated, the southpaw has stumbled to a 6.45 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB in 22.1 innings. Lodolo will try to build on Tuesday's effort in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road early next week against the Dodgers.

  • Padres' Randy Vasquez: Can't complete five frames in Cincy

Vasquez didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Reds, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

The right-hander failed to complete five innings for the first time since July 30, tossing 50 of 69 pitches for strikes before being lifted from a 2-2 tie. Vasquez has allowed more than two runs just once in 10 appearances since the All-Star break, posting a 2.68 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB over 43.2 innings while going 4-0, but despite that success he could be headed for the bullpen in September, with both Joe Musgrove (elbow) and Nick Pivetta (forearm) closing in on their returns from the IL.

  • Ronel Blanco SP | HOU

    Astros' Ronel Blanco: No-decision Tuesday

Blanco didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the White Sox. He allowed three hits and three walks while striking out three over four scoreless innings.

The Astros recalled Blanco from Triple-A Sugar Land to start Tuesday after rosters expanded to 28 players. Blanco has issued three walks in four of his six outings in 2026, so the lack of command and control remains an issue, but he at least delivered a scoreless outing -- a massive improvement considering he had given up at least three earned runs in each of his previous five appearances. Blanco lowered his ERA to 6.59 with this outing, and it remains to be seen whether he'll stay in the rotation for another turn.

  • Sean Burke SP | CHW

White Sox's Sean Burke: Bounces back, earns win Tuesday

Burke (8-6) earned the win Tuesday against the Astros after tossing 5.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts. He allowed one hit and walked four.

Burke bounced back nicely after issuing a career-high eight walks over three-plus innings in his previous start. He walked the first two batters Tuesday but escaped the opening frame and didn't surrender his first hit until Taylor Trammell doubled in the fifth. This was Burke's fifth scoreless outing of the season, and he's been pitching well -- this outing lowered his ERA to 3.20, and he owns a strong 2.76 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP in nine starts since the All-Star break. His next start is projected to come at home against the Twins over the weekend.
