  • Will Warren SP | NYY

Yankees' Will Warren: Earns win in bulk relief

Warren (11-6) earned the win against the Orioles in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out seven over 3.2 scoreless innings.

Warren appeared out of the bullpen for the second time in September and dominated, throwing 39 of 54 pitches for strikes with 13 whiffs. It concluded a strong month for the 27-year-old, who went 2-0 with a 2.05 ERA and 25:8 K over five appearances (three starts). He'll finish the regular season with a 3.92 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 158:54 K across 156 innings and may work in a similar capacity to Friday for the Yankees in the postseason.

  • Jose Soriano SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Jose Soriano: Poor end to 2026 season

Soriano did not factor into the decision Friday against the Reds, allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out two across three innings. He did not issue a walk.

Soriano was handed an early 2-0 lead, but he proceeded to give up a solo homer to Eugenio Suarez in the second inning before yielding four more runs in the third. Soriano did not come back out for the fourth inning, with his night ending with only 48 pitches (36 strikes), but he escaped with the no-decision after his Blue Jays teammates tacked on four runs in the seventh. He's given up at least four earned runs in each of his last three outings, and Soriano will end the 2026 regular season with a 12-8 record across 32 starts, along with a 3.91 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 169:73 K:BB over 177.1 innings. He was acquired by the Blue Jays from the Angels in early August and is under arbitration for both 2027 and 2028.

  • Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Fans 10 but takes loss

Sanchez (18-7) took the loss against the Rays on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out 10 across seven innings.

Sanchez gave up a run in each of the first two innings of Friday's start before settling in to keep the Rays off the board over the next five frames. He finished his start strongly with seven consecutive strikeouts from the fifth through seventh innings, but he did not get enough run support from his Phillies to avoid the loss. It was the sixth time this season that Sanchez recorded 10-plus strikeouts, but Friday was the first time he took the loss in the process. He's tied with Sonny Gray for most wins in the majors, with Sanchez finishing the regular season with a 2.72 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 149:46 K:BB over 169 innings. Sanchez figures to be the Phillies' top rotation option for the playoffs, assuming the team qualifies.

  • Grant Holmes SP | ATL

Braves' Grant Holmes: Takes loss in bulk relief

Holmes (10-6) took the loss against the Marlins on Friday, allowing one run on three hits and three walks with one strikeout over four innings.

Holmes battled despite throwing just 29 of 54 pitches for strikes, but he was on the wrong end of a complete-game shutout by Eury Perez. It marked the first time the 30-year-old Holmes had worked out of the bullpen since June 27, and he'll finish September with a streak of five straight appearances allowing two earned runs or fewer. He'll conclude a career-best regular season with a 3.44 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 115:62 K:BB across 151.2 innings.

  • Rays' Freddy Peralta: Collects 10th win of season

Peralta (10-11) earned the win against the Phillies on Friday, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out four across 5.1 scoreless innings.

Peralta lost six of 11 starts from June 20 to August 21, but the veteran right-hander ended the regular season strongly with five wins over his last six outings. Friday's outing was his fifth start in which he gave up zero earned runs while tossing five or more innings, generating 12 whiffs and seven ground outs in the process. He'll finish the regular season with a 4.42 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 156:63 K:BB over 169 innings. The Rays will enter the playoffs as the top seed, so Peralta will have additional rest before toeing the rubber for the ALDS.

  • Eury Perez SP | MIA

Marlins' Eury Perez: Finishes strong with one-hit shutout

Perez (8-11) earned the win against Atlanta on Friday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out eight over nine scoreless innings.

Perez was spectacular, allowing just a single in the sixth inning while racking up 17 swinging strikes on 105 pitches en route to his first career complete-game shutout. It marked a strong finish to a tumultuous second half in which the 23-year-old had yielded five earned runs or more in four of his previous five starts. He'll conclude the season with a 3.91 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 170:68 K:BB across a career-high 159 innings.

  • Trevor Rogers SP | BAL

Orioles' Trevor Rogers: Early hook in no-decision

Rogers did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-2 win over the Yankees, allowing one run on five hits and no walks with four strikeouts over four innings.

Rogers allowed a run in the fourth inning but was solid overall, filling the zone with 41 of 55 pitches while generating 11 whiffs in his final start of the campaign. The 28-year-old finished the year strong, posting a 2.53 ERA with a stellar 36:2 K:BB over five September outings. He'll finish the season 10-11 with a 4.03 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 157:39 K:BB across a career-high 169.2 innings and will test free agency this offseason.

  • Giants' Cesar Perdomo: Sent down to minors

The Giants optioned Perdomo to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Perdomo wasn't lined up to make another start this season after throwing 5.1 innings against the Twins on Wednesday, so the Giants will remove him from their active roster to make room for Camilo Doval, who was claimed off waivers Thursday. Perdomo will conclude 2026 with a 3.65 ERA and 1.38 WHIP through 24.2 innings in the majors and could have a chance to open the 2027 campaign in the Giants' rotation.

  • Brendan Beck SP | NYY

Yankees' Brendan Beck: Sent back down

The Yankees optioned Beck after the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Beck took the loss in the matinee, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks while striking out eight over five innings. While Beck put up impressive numbers at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, posting a 2.93 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 151:40 K:BB in 135.1 innings, that success has yet to translate to the highest level (9.95 ERA in four appearances).

  • Marlins' Wikelman Gonzalez: Up from Jacksonville

The Marlins recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

With Tyler Zuber (elbow) landing on the injured list Friday, Gonzalez will come up from the minors to help Miami's bullpen get through the team's final series of the season. The 24-year-old hasn't appeared in an MLB game this year and carries a 5.94 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 36.1 innings at Triple-A, so he'll almost certainly be reserved for low-leverage work.
