  • Capitals' Justin Sourdif: Won't play Tuesday

Sourdif (illness) won't be in the lineup against the Kings on Tuesday, per Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.

Sourdif remains day-to-day with an illness and will miss his second straight game. He has contributed one goal, six shots on net and 13 hits in seven appearances this season.

  • Jets' Brayden Yager: Recalled from minors

Yager was summoned from AHL Manitoba on Monday.

In a corresponding move, Winnipeg moved Josh Morrissey (wrist) to injured reserve. Yager has notched five goals and four assists in six AHL appearances this campaign. He could make his NHL season debut as early as Tuesday's road matchup against St. Louis, but it's unclear if he will be in the lineup. He could be with the Jets just for insurance during the team's three-game road trip.

  • Sam Lafferty C | FLA

Panthers' Sam Lafferty: Dropped to minors

Lafferty was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Monday.

Lafferty has appeared in five games for the Panthers this season, but he has yet to write his name on the scoresheet. In a corresponding move, the Panthers brought Cole Schwindt up from the minors. This likely won't be the last time Lafferty shifts between levels, making him a mid-range fantasy target at best.

  • Hurricanes' Jesperi Kotkaniemi: Scores again in loss

Kotkaniemi scored a goal on four shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Flames.

With Mark Jankowski (lower body) the latest forward to get hurt, Kotkaniemi is playing an increasingly important role in the Hurricanes' bottom six. He's risen to the occasion with goals in consecutive contests. For the season, he's at two goals, two assists, nine shots on net, 12 hits, six PIM and a plus-1 rating across eight appearances. Until Carolina gets healthier up front, Kotkaniemi should see steady playing time.

  • Flames' Yegor Sharangovich: Tallies game-winner Sunday

Sharangovich scored a goal on six shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.

Sharangovich's tally with 4:28 left in the third period stood as the game-winner. The 28-year-old forward is filling a middle-six role and has done an admirable job on a low-scoring roster. He has two goals, two assists, 16 shots and a minus-1 rating through eight appearances this season. As long as the plus-minus rating doesn't get too negative, Sharangovich could have some appeal in deep fantasy formats as a depth scorer.

  • Morgan Frost C | CGY

Flames' Morgan Frost: Earns pair of points Sunday

Frost scored a power-play goal on three shots and added an assist in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.

This was Frost's first multi-point effort of the season. He started the year in rough form but has turned things around as the Flames have settled into the campaign. Frost has three goals, two assists, three power-play points, 17 shots on net and a minus-7 rating across eight appearances in a top-six role.

  • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Nets lone goal in loss

Fantilli scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Wild.

Fantilli hasn't gotten into a rhythm yet this season. He's scored twice and added an assist over seven games while adding 19 shots on net, 13 hits, 10 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. The 22-year-old center was a late arrival to camp, missing over a week as an unsigned restricted free agent. That factor, coupled with a light schedule for the Blue Jackets early in the season, may be making it difficult for him to shake off the rust. He's in a top-line role, so his offense should come around eventually.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Leaving road trip

Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said Sunday that Jankowski has ben sent back to Raleigh to have his lower-body injury assessed, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Jankowski was a late scratch for Sunday's 3-2 loss in Calgary and is now unlikely to be available until after Carolina's current road trip concludes, which will be Saturday in St. Louis. As a result of Jankowski returning home, it wouldn't be surprising to see him land on injured reserve in the near future. While the Hurricanes have lost several forwards due to injury recently, the team is expected to have Seth Jarvis (shoulder) return to the lineup soon, as Brind'Amour said Friday that he's hopeful Jarvis will be able to play at some point during this road trip. Nicolas Deslauriers got back into the lineup Sunday due to Jankowski's absence.

  • Blues' Otto Stenberg: Recalled by St. Louis

Stenberg was recalled from AHL Springfield on Sunday.

Stenberg made 32 regular-season appearances for the Blues last year and recorded three goals, seven assists, 49 hits, 15 blocked shots and five PIM while averaging 13:37 of ice time. He'll provide additional depth for the NHL club since Ross Johnston was placed on injured reserve Sunday due to a lower-body injury.

  • Nico Sturm C | MIN

Wild's Nico Sturm: Joining team on road trip

Sturm (concussion) will be with the team on its upcoming five-game road trip, per Michael Russo of The Athletic on Sunday.

While Sturm will travel with the team on its lengthy road trip, it wasn't revealed when he will be able to return to the lineup. The 31-year-old has missed the past two games due to his concussion and is currently on injured reserve.
