  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Earns 52nd career shutout

Bobrovsky posted a 15-save shutout in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Stars.

Bobrovsky is up to 52 shutouts in his career, tied with Tuukka Rask for 27th all-time and the second-most among active goalies behind only Jonathan Quick (64). It was the third shutout of the campaign for Bobrovsky, who also banked the Devils on Nov. 20 and the Golden Knights on Oct. 25. The 37-year-old netminder has won three straight games and is up to 13-8-1 with a 2.84 GAA and an .886 save percentage over 22 outings this season. The Panthers' four-game road trip ends Monday against the Lightning.

  • Ilya Sorokin G | NYI

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Fifth straight win

Sorokin made 32 saves in a 3-2 shootout win over the Lightning on Saturday.

The Islanders got off to a good start and went up 2-0 by the mid-point of the opening period. Sorokin made several key saves while allowing just two goals when his team buckled a bit in front of him. He has made 162 saves (.942 save percentage) during his active five-game winning streak, and he's the backbone of the team's second-place spot in the Metropolitan Division.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: On wrong end of shutout

Oettinger stopped 19 of 22 shots in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Panthers. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Oettinger has now lost two games in a row following a six-game winning streak, though the Stars' offense let him down in this contest. All three goals he allowed came in the second period as the Panthers' top players stepped up to take control of the game. Oettinger is now 14-6-2 with a 2.54 GAA and a .907 save percentage over 22 starts. He'll look for better support in Monday's home game versus the Kings.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Posts second shutout of season

Gibson recorded a 26-save shutout in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Blackhawks.

Gibson has all the momentum in the Red Wings' crease -- he's won five straight games, two via shutout. He's allowed 10 goals on 167 shots in that span. It took some time for Gibson to get on track, and he hasn't exactly faced juggernaut offenses during his heater, but the run is helping his confidence. The 32-year-old is up to 9-7-1 with a 3.13 GAA and an .890 save percentage over 18 starts this season. Gibson figures to start twice in the next week as the Red Wings have a pair of back-to-back sets coming up, beginning with a home sequence that sees them host the Islanders on Tuesday and the Mammoth on Wednesday.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Gets no help in loss

Soderblom allowed three goals on 23 shots in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Red Wings. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Soderblom was torched by the Red Wings' second line, which combined for a pair of tallies within the first five minutes of the game. This was Soderblom's fourth straight loss, and it was his best performance in that span, which isn't saying much since he's now allowed 23 goals on 136 shots during the skid. For the year, he's at a 3-6-1 record with a 3.84 GAA and an .876 save percentage over 10 outings. The Blackhawks appear to be committed to keeping Soderblom in the backup role, but the team also needs to act on Laurent Brossoit (hip) soon, as his conditioning loan with AHL Rockford is set to end Tuesday. If Brossoit joins the big club or is swapped for another goalie, Soderblom's NHL roster spot could be at risk.

  • Red Wings' Sebastian Cossa: Logs third shutout

Cossa posted a 20-save shutout in AHL Grand Rapids' 1-0 win over Rockford on Saturday.

The Griffins' offense had a rare quiet game, but Cossa made sure that wasn't a problem. He earned his third shutout of the season in the process. Playing on a strong team has seen him post a 12-1-0 record with a 1.62 GAA and a .939 save percentage through 13 contests.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Late collapse Saturday

Silovs made 26 saves in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Sharks.

The 24-year-old netminder seemed to be cruising to his fifth win of the season when the Penguins took a 5-1 lead early in the third period. However, San Jose proceeded to put together the biggest third-period comeback in franchise history before John Klingberg ended things in OT. The six goals he allowed tied a season high for Silovs. Through 14 appearances this campaign, he sports a 4-4-6 record with a 3.12 GAA and an .893 save percentage. Silovs will almost certainly move into the No. 2 role in the Pittsburgh crease once Stuart Skinner (not injured related) settles his work visa situation.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Hangs on for OT win

Askarov turned aside 38 shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Penguins.

The Penguins dominated the second period and took a 5-1 lead on an Anthony Mantha power-play tally early in the third, but Askarov stood on his head down the stretch as the Sharks mounted the biggest late comeback in franchise history. The 23-year-old netminder had ceded the prior three starts to Alex Nedeljkovic due to an illness, but Askarov seems ready to resume No. 1 duties in the San Jose crease. On the season, he's gone 11-8-1 in 20 outings with a 3.19 GAA and a .902 save percentage.

  • Devon Levi G | BUF

Sabres' Devon Levi: Strong in AHL shootout loss

Levi stopped 38 of 39 shots in AHL Rochester's 2-1 shootout loss to Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

Levi also stopped seven of eight shootout attempts, but it wasn't enough. He's now 10-4-3 with a 2.79 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 17 AHL games this year, though his numbers are noticeably down from last year's 2.20 GAA and .919 save percentage over 42 regular-season contests. Levi is unlikely to be an NHL option this season as the Sabres opt to stick with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Alex Lyon, as well as Colten Ellis (concussion) once he's healthy.

  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Sharp in Saturday's win

Wallstedt stopped 34 shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Senators.

The 23-year-old was the busier netminder on the afternoon as the Wild were outshot 36-25, but the only pucks to get past Wallstedt came on Ottawa power plays. It was an impressive bounce-back effort after he took his first regulation loss of the season Dec. 6 against the Canucks, and Wallstedt is 9-1-2 through 12 starts with a stellar 1.95 GAA and .937 save percentage.
