Canelo Alvarez: Mayweather doesn't take chances, fight could bore
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez says Floyd Mayweather might not take chances against Manny Pacquiao, which might not lead to a good fight.

At least one boxer is worried that the Fight of the Century won't live up to its billing. Not because Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao aren't the two best fighters in the world, but because Mayweather is so darn good, he doesn't need to take chances in order to beat Pacquiao.
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who lost to Mayweather in 2013, thinks Mayweather would be fine with making the fight a bad one.
"He doesn't let you expose anything," Alvarez told Fighthype.com. "He's a fighter that is fine winning a round with three punches. He doesn't take chances to make a good fight. He doesn't care how he wins, just that he wins."
Maybe that's one reason why Mayweather is unbeaten as a fighter -- he only cares about winning.
But another former boxer -- Mike Tyson -- disagrees with Alvarez's concerns. Earlier this month, Tyson argued the exact opposite, saying Mayweather needed to get aggressive against Pacquiao if he hopes to leave the MGM Grand on May 2 with a win.
"He has to fight," Tyson said. "If he's not going to score, he is going to lose the round. Also, if he is laid back, he is going to lose the round."
Mayweather himself has kept quiet on his gameplan. Pacquiao and trainer Freddie Roach, on the other hand, haven't been, saying they'll look to go after Mayweather's defense.
"If it's defense he will be relying on when we face each other, I can say this early that I'm ready to meet him in that department," Pacquiao told Philboxing.com earlier this month. "We've actually been figuring out how we can penetrate the defensive blanket Floyd would throw at me since we opened camp in General Santos two or three weeks ago."
Something -- probably his unrelenting speed -- tells me Pacquiao won't let this fight become a boring one. As Mike Tyson put it, Pacquiao is "perpetual motion." Sounds exciting enough for me.
