A's agree to terms Brandon Inge
The A's have an agreement in place with third baseman Brandon Inge, who was recently cut loose by the Detroit Tigers.
CBSSports.com Insider Jon Heyman confirms a Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com report that the Oakland A's have agreed to terms with the third baseman who was recently released by the Tigers.
The 34-year-old Inge has a .400 OPS this season, albeit in a tiny sample of just 20 plate appearances. While Inge hasn't enjoyed a (somewhat) productive season at the plate since 2006, he's still a potential defensive asset at the hot corner.
It's also worth noting that Oakland third basemen this season have combined to "hit" just .127/.159/.215. So Inge might very well provide the A's with an upgrade.
