Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter is of course in the midst of his final season, and, in keeping with his standing as an active baseball legend, he's being showered in gifts whenever he makes his final visit to each park on the schedule. 

On Thursday night, Jeter plays in Citi Field for the final time, so the Mets to mark the occasion presented the Captain with what follows ... 

That's actually pretty cool. A subway-tiled no. 2. That's Jeter's number, of course, and it's also an obvious nod to the Subway Series being concluded on Thursday. I declare this to be well-conceived and even worthy of a spot on one of the thousands of walls owned by Mr. Jeter. 

Also of note is that the Mets chipped in a donation of $22,222.22 to Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation
