Things could not be going much better for Yankees rookie catcher Gary Sanchez. He's already become the fastest player in history to hit 11 home runs, doing so in his first 21 games. Sanchez is also the first player with 10+ home runs and 30+ hits in his first 22 MLB games.
On Monday, Sanchez added another notch to his belt: he was named AL Player of the Week. Again. Sanchez is the first rookie in baseball history to win Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks. Here are his numbers the last two weeks:

Overall, Sanchez is hitting .405/.468/.892 (251 OPS+) with 11 home runs and 21 RBI in 22 big league games this season. He's also thrown out six of nine basestealers. Yes, only three have been successful against him.
Obviously Sanchez won't hit like this forever, but few have started their careers as well as the young backstop. He's the biggest reason the Yankees have won 11 of their last 17 games and remain in the wild card race.
