Single-A Jupiter placed Morlando on the 7-day injured list May 5 with a left hamstring strain, Ely Sussman of Fish on First reports.

He hit .231 with a .429 OBP, one home run and a 37.1 percent strikeout rate in eight games before pulling his hamstring.

Marlins' PJ Morlando: Undergoes elbow procedure
Morlando underwent an ulnar nerve transportation on his left elbow Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
The surgery was on Morlando's non-throwing elbow and it is not considered a repair or reconstruction operation. Nevertheless, he is projected to miss 8-to-10 weeks, meaning he'll get a delayed start to his first full professional season. It's been a tough start for Morlando, who missed most of 2024 after signing with the Marlins due to a lumbar stress reaction.

Marlins' PJ Morlando: Cleared for Spring Breakout game
Morlando (back) is listed on the Miami roster for its March 14 Spring Breakout game against St. Louis prospects.
Morlando's inclusion on the Spring Breakout roster implies that he's back to full health heading into the 2025 season. The 19-year-old outfielder made his professional debut with Single-A Jupiter on Aug. 2 but didn't play any games after that due to a lumbar stress reaction.

Marlins' PJ Morlando: Done for season with back injury
Morlando will miss the rest of the season after being diagnosed with a lumbar stress reaction, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Morlando played just one game with Single-A Jupiter before suffering the injury. There don't appear to be any long-term concerns for the 19-year-old, but with just a month left in the minor-league season, there's simply not enough time for Morlando to make it back. The 16th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Morlando is expected to have a normal offseason.
