  • Thunder's Mike Muscala: Out for season after surgery

Muscala underwent successful arthroscopic surgery with additional ligament repair on his right ankle Tuesday and will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season, Andrew Schlecht of The Athletic reports.

Muscala hasn't seen the court since early February due to the ankle injury and will now be sidelined for the final month of the season after the procedure. He appeared in 43 games and averaged 8.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13.8 minutes for the campaign. Isaiah Roby, Olivier Sarr and Derrick Favors should continue to split work at center for Oklahoma City down the stretch.

  • Thunder's Mike Muscala: Remains without timetable

Coach Mark Daigneault said Wednesday that Muscala (ankle) remains out, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.

Muscala has been dealing with a right ankle issue since early February and had been ruled out through the All-Star break, but Daigneault didn't offer an updated return timetable as the Thunder prepare to return to the court Thursday. Isaiah Roby and Derrick Favors should continue to serve as the team's top options at center.

  • Thunder's Mike Muscala: Out through All-Star break

Muscala (ankle) will remain out through the All-Star break, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.

The right ankle issue that kept Muscala out of Saturday's loss to the Kings will sideline him for at least a few more weeks. Mussatto adds that Muscala had already mentioned that surgery could be an option, so it's very possible he remains out well beyond the All-Star break. For the time being, Mamadi Diakite and Derrick Favors are the Thunder's only healthy options at center. Isaiah Roby is battling an ankle injury, while Jeremiah Robinson-Earl is set to miss several more weeks with a broken foot.

  • Thunder's Mike Muscala: Will rest Wednesday

Muscala will be rested for Wednesday's game against Denver.

While much of the rest of the league attempts to scrap together enough players to play games, the Thunder have mostly avoided COVID-19 issues and will have the luxury of holding Muscala out on the front end of a back-to-back. Expect Derrick Favors and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to pick up more minutes at center.

  • Thunder's Mike Muscala: Ruled out vs. Rockets

Muscala (ankle) will not play Wednesday against Houston.

A sore right ankle will keep the veteran big man out of a second straight game. His role has varied throughout the first six weeks of the season, but Muscala hasn't done nearly enough to warrant consideration in season-long fantasy leagues.
