If Brian Dawkins had chosen to return for the 2012 season, it would have been a nice bonus for the Broncos, but the March 15 free-agent signing of ex-Browns safety Mike Adams gave the Broncos security in the safety corps. Adams is a free safety, which will allow 2011 draft pick Quinton Carter to move to strong safety -- his natural position -- on a full-time basis. Carter had played free safety alongside Dawkins last year after replacing 2011 second-round pick Rahim Moore, who was benched after five games of ineffective play.
