New team. New city. New Raiders. The Las Vegas Raiders will begin their first season in the "Sin City" amidst plenty of hype upon their arrival, revamping a team that finished second in the AFC West last season. Las Vegas finally put an offense behind quarterback Derek Carr, culminated with the first-round selection of wide receiver Henry Ruggs in the draft (along with running back Lynn Bowden and wide receiver Bryan Edwards in the third round) -- along with tight end Jason Witten in free agency.

Of course, there will be pressure towards Carr this year -- as Vegas signed Marcus Mariota to a two-year deal, which he will compete with Carr for the quarterback job. The Raiders also revamped their defense, adding linebackers Cory Littleton and Nick Kwiatkoski, safeties Jeff Heath and Damarious Randall, defensive end Carl Nassib, and defensive tackle Maliek Collins. They also drafted Damon Arnette with their other first-round selection.

The Raiders are seeking to make the playoffs for just the second time since losing Super Bowl XXXVII in the 2002 season, giving Carr his best offense since taking over as the franchise quarterback. Head coach Jon Gruden arguably has his best roster since taking over as head coach, setting Vegas up for a shot at making the playoffs in the Raiders' first season in a new city.

The Raiders' 2020 schedule has been released and we're giving a week-by-week prediction for all 16 games. Courtesy of William Hill Sports Book, we'll provide over/under win totals for every opponent along with lines for Week 1 and Week 2. In case you're wondering, the Raiders over/under is 7.5 -- so let's see if they surpass that threshold.

Week 1 at Panthers

Line: Panthers +1
Opponent win total: 5.5

Prediction: The Panthers are in full rebuilding mode, but this game will be one for optimism as Teddy Bridgewater will make his debut as Carolina's starting quarterback. Josh Jacobs will put an end to their upset hopes early, rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown in the season opener. Car also has a good day against a rebuilding Panthers defense, giving Matt Rhule a loss in his head coaching debut. Raiders 27-17

Projected win record: 1-0

Week 2 vs. Saints (MNF)

Line: Raiders +4.5
Opponent win total: 10.5

Prediction: The Raiders will be fired up playing their first game in Vegas, on "Monday Night Football" at Allegiant Stadium. Raiders fans will give a new meaning to the term home-field advantage, as the crowd will fire the team up throughout the night. Vegas will play hard and be in line for the upset, but Drew Brees will throw a late touchdown to spoil the Raiders debut in Vegas. The Raiders will cover, however. Saints 30-27

Projected win record: 1-1

Week 3 at Patriots

Opponent win total: 9.0

Prediction: A tough matchup awaits the Raiders in New England, one of the biggest unknowns in the NFL since Jarrett Stidham is the quarterback. The Patriots defense will give Carr and the offense fits, a game where the coaching staff will question if Carr is the quarterback to lead this team going forward. This one will be tough for the Raiders offense as the brutal portion of their schedule awaits. Patriots 20-10

Projected win record: 1-2

Week 4 vs. Bills

Opponent win total: 9.0

Prediction: Another brutal defense the Raiders will face this week in Buffalo, but this will be a game Henry Ruggs makes his mark on the NFL. Tre'Davious White will have a great game (per usual), but Ruggs will get a long touchdown against the Bills secondary that ultimately makes the difference. The Raiders get their first win in Vegas against a very good football team. Raiders 23-20

Projected win record: 2-2

Week 5 at Chiefs

Opponent win total: 11.5

Prediction: The Chiefs had their way against the Raiders last season, destroying them on the deep ball in both matchups. A revamped and improved secondary will help, but the only way the Raiders win this one is if Josh Jacobs gets going early and the Raiders control the clock. Vegas can't afford to go down two scores early like they did in the second meeting last year. This could get ugly in a hurry. Chiefs 31-17

Projected win record: 2-3

Week 6: BYE

Week 7 vs. Buccaneers (SNF)

Opponent win total: 9.5

Prediction: This game should be circled on the Vegas calendar, as Tom Brady comes to town in a prime time matchup on "Sunday Night Football." The Buccaneers offense will be starting to click, a true test for the Raiders new linebackers. Darren Waller has a big game for Vegas, but the Raiders come up just short as Carr has the chance to lead the team to victory in the final minutes. Things get dicey in Vegas regarding his job status after this loss. Buccaneers 28-24

Projected win record: 2-4

Week 8 at Browns

Opponent win total: 8.5

Prediction: This is a tough test for the Raiders, as they head to Cleveland with their starting quarterback's job on the line. Carr will face a tremendous amount of pressure to perform in this one, and he'll respond against a good defense with three touchdowns (two to Waller). Vegas gets a signature road win as the schedule gets a lot easier going forward. Raiders 30-23

Projected win record: 3-4

Week 9 at Chargers

Opponent win total: 7.5

Prediction: A huge AFC West matchup against a rebuilding Chargers team that's still starting Tyrod Taylor at quarterback. This will be a game the Raiders defense shines, with Maxx Crosby earning a pair of sacks as Taylor has the rare game where he throws multiple interceptions. Vegas gets to .500 as there's renewed optimism in the locker room. Raiders 24-16

Projected win record: 4-4

Week 10 vs. Broncos

Opponent win total: 7.5

Prediction: The Raiders and Broncos are neck-and-neck in terms of talent, and tied for second in the AFC West standings at this point. Denver matches up well with Vegas, but the Raiders pass rush will make the difference in the first meeting. Clelin Ferrell has his way against Garett Bolles (assuming he's the starting left tackle at this point), giving Drew Lock his first bad game as Denver's starting quarterback. Raiders 21-14

Projected win record: 5-4

Week 11 vs. Chiefs (SNF)

Opponent win total: 11.5

Prediction: The Raiders get their rematch against the Chiefs, who will be making their first trip to Vegas. Patrick Mahomes will be excited to play in the bright lights of Vegas in front of a prime time audience, which could be a doomsday scenario for the Raiders secondary. Vegas is just not at Kansas City's level just yet, but are still in the hunt for a playoff berth. Chiefs 34-21

Projected win record: 5-5

Week 12 at Falcons

Opponent win total: 7.5

Prediction: The Raiders will be excited to challenge a Falcons team that is projected to start 17 first-round picks on both sides of the ball. Once again, Carr will deliver against a susceptible secondary with a multiple touchdown performance, with Ruggs and Tyrell Williams catching touchdowns. The Raiders finally beat a NFC South team. Raiders 27-20

Projected win record: 6-5

Week 13 at Jets

Opponent win total: 6.5

Prediction: There always is a game a team should win and somehow doesn't. This Jets game is that one for the Raiders, as the secondary has lapses against Sam Darnold and New York -- another team fighting for its playoff lives. Overall, the Raiders just have a bad day on both sides of the ball in a disappointing loss. This was a huge opportunity for the Raiders to separate themselves in the wild card race. Jets 27-16

Projected win record: 6-6

Week 14 vs. Colts

Opponent win total: 9.0

Prediction: The Colts are going to be a better team with Philip Rivers aboard, but the Raiders are facing humiliation after last week's embarrassing loss. Josh Jacobs will make sure his team gets back over .500 with a 100-yard game and a pair of touchdowns, as Vegas starts to find that home-field advantage it has been seeking all year. Raiders 27-21

Projected win record: 7-6

Week 15 vs. Chargers (TNF)

Opponent win total: 7.5

Prediction: A short week for the Raiders at home is just what the doctor ordered, even if the Chargers are a tough challenge. Los Angeles is starting Justin Herbert at this point as the Raiders defensive line puts their stamp on this game. Carr also tosses a pair of touchdowns as he fights for the playoff start he was robbed of four years ago. In case you're aware, the Raiders pass the 7.5-win threshold. Take the over on that futures bet. Raiders 24-17

Projected win record: 8-6

Week 16 vs. Dolphins

Opponent win total: 6.0

Prediction: The Dolphins shocked plenty of teams in the second half of last season, so this isn't going to be an easy win for Vegas. Tua Tagovailoa will be coming into his own in his rookie campaign and will test the Vegas defense with his mobility. At the end of the day, Jacobs and Devontae Booker tear up one of the league's worst run defenses. Vegas is one win away from a playoff berth. Raiders 30-20

Projected win record: 9-6

Week 17 at Broncos

Opponent win total: 7.5

Prediction: Heartbreak comes for Vegas in the regular season finale, as Lock and the Broncos defense earn vengeance from the first matchup. Carr struggles in the must-win game, raising even more questions about his future as Lock gets the signature win for Denver with three touchdown passes. Vegas isn't eliminated from the playoff race, but will sweat it out until the games are completed that final Sunday. Broncos 31-20

Projected win record: 9-7
