Mychal Kendricks: Released by San Francisco
Kendricks was released by the 49ers on Saturday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The 31-year-old landed on injured reserve during the preseason and was eventually released off of IR by the 49ers. However, he re-signed Monday after passing his physical. It's unclear why San Francisco elected to move on from the linebacker so quickly, but he will likely draw interest from other teams around the league.

Mychal Kendricks: Expected to sign with 49ers
Kendricks is expected to sign with the 49ers on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Kendricks was let go by San Francisco with an injury settlement in early September, but he'll rejoin the team if he passes his physical Monday. The 31-year-old should be fully healthy and is expected to serve as depth at linebacker.

Mychal Kendricks: Returns to San Francisco for visit
The 49ers hosted Kendricks (toe) for a visit Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
San Francisco released Kendricks from IR just one month ago, but it looks like the veteran linebacker has now returned to full health. It's possible that he could reunite with the 49ers in the future, especially if his tryout went well.

Mychal Kendricks: Released from injured reserve
The 49ers released Kendricks (toe) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports.

49ers' Mychal Kendricks: Out at least a month
Kendricks (toe) will be out for at least a month according to coach Kyle Shanahan, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Kendricks didn't re-enter Sunday's preseason contest after picking up the injury in the first half. It is likely the 30-year-old will miss at least one regular season game as he rehabs. The 49ers currently have injuries to Kendricks, Dre Greenlaw (blister), Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (concussion) -- their top four outside linebackers.

49ers' Mychal Kendricks: Sent to injured reserve
The 49ers placed Kendricks (toe) on injured reserve Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Kendricks is dealing with a toe injury picked up during Sunday's preseason contest against the Chargers, and which coach Kyle Shanahan said would likely sideline him for at least a month. However, the timing of Kendricks' placement on IR makes him ineligible to return this season, unless he reaches an injury settlement and parts ways with the 49ers.

49ers' Mychal Kendricks: Injury draws concern
Coach Kyle Shanahan said after Sunday's preseason win over the Chargers that he's "a little concerned" about Kendricks' toe injury, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Kendricks was initially considered questionable to return after he sustained his ankle injury in the first half of Sunday's game, but he didn't re-enter the contest. Shanahan didn't disclose the specifics of the linebacker's toe injury, but the issue may impact his availability as he competes for a role in San Francisco's defense ahead of the regular season.

49ers' Mychal Kendricks: Picks up toe injury
Kendricks left Sunday's preseason game against the Chargers with a toe injury and is questionable to return, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Kendricks was only briefly in the game before suffering the injury. Given that he wasn't ruled out for a return, the issue likely isn't serious. Even so, the team may be inclined to take a cautious approach given that it is still the preseason.

49ers' Mychal Kendricks: Signing with San Francisco
Kendricks is signing a contract with the 49ers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Kendricks worked out for the 49ers earlier in the week, and the team ultimately decided to add him to the roster. Kendricks was sentenced on insider trading charges last month, but his remaining punishments will not affect his availability for his new team, so he will have an immediate opportunity to make a run at a roster spot.

Mychal Kendricks: Allowed to resume NFL career
Kendricks was sentenced Thursday to one day in jail, three years of probation, a $100,000 fine and 300 hours of community service as a result of insider trading charges dating back to 2018, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports.
Kendricks will be free to sign with any NFL team as early as Friday, in the event that he wishes to continue his career. After managing 71 tackles across 14 games with the Seahawks back in 2019, Kendricks only saw action in a single contest with Washington last season, finishing the year with nine defensive snaps. Now that his legal situation has been resolved, the veteran linebacker could draw interest as a free agent.
