Commanders' Cornelius Lucas: Ruled out for Week 18
Lucas (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Cowboys, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
It's unclear when Lucas sustained the ankle injury, but the offensive tackle will be forced to miss the Commanders' season finale in Week 18. In his absence, Samuel Cosmi could draw the start at right tackle versus Dallas.

Lucas passed his physical and was activated off the active/non-football illness list Monday.
Lucas will make his training camp debut Monday after starting the campaign on the NFI list. Once he works his way back to full strength, he figures to provide offensive-line depth for Washington in 2022.

Washington activated Lucas off the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
Despite the game being pushed back two days, Lucas was unable to clear protocols in time to be available for Tuesday's loss to the Eagles. However, one day after the contest, he has been added back to the active roster. Lucas is expected to assume his usual spot at left tackle in Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Lucas was one of seven players to hit the COVID list for Washington on Wednesday. As the team's starting right tackle, any potential absence would be damaging to their offensive line. Combined with starting left tackle Charles Leno (back) currently considered questionable for Sunday against the Eagles, Washington could be in trouble when it comes to protecting the edges.
