Top Raheem Mostert News

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Shut down on ground Sunday

Mostert rushed eight times for 11 yards and failed to bring in either of his two targets in the Dolphins' 21-19 win over the Bills on Sunday. He also returned three kickoffs for 54 yards.

The usually efficient running back was anything but, running into a brick wall of a Bills defense on all but one of his carries. Mostert's long run went for nine yards, meaning he netted all of two yards on his seven other rushes. Backfield mate Chase Edmonds was a tad better with 3.5 yards per carry and also scored two touchdowns, but the split between the two figures to remain fairly close again in Thursday night's Week 4 road matchup against the Bengals.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Impressive all-around effort Sunday

Mostert rushed 11 times for 51 yards and secured all three targets for 28 yards in the Dolphins' 42-38 win over the Ravens on Sunday.

The veteran running back's numbers naturally will be completely overshadowed by the otherworldly exploits of teammates Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but there's plenty of encouragement to take from Mostert's performance as well. To begin with, Mostert saw a nice boost in touches after logging only six in the opener, and he also appeared to have some of his trademark explosiveness against a tough defense. Additionally, Mostert outpaced backfield mate Chase Edmonds by six rushes, and if the former is blessed with more of a favorable game script in a Week 3 matchup against the Bills at home, he could see a bigger workload, albeit in an even tougher matchup on paper.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Six touches in Dolphins debut

Mostert rushed five times for 16 yards and caught his only target for another 16 yards in Sunday's 20-7 win over the Patriots.

Mostert got six touches to Chase Edmonds' 16, as Edmonds asserted himself as Miami's lead back. Miami's two touchdowns came on a defensive play and a long pass, so the Dolphins didn't show which running back would get the all-important carries by the goal line. Mostert should remain in a change-of-pace role behind Edmonds in Week 2 against the Ravens.
