Emeke Egbule: Let go by Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh waived Egbule on Monday.
Egbule was a sixth-round pick by the Chargers in 2019 and appeared in 32 games over his first three NFL seasons, playing primarily on special teams. He was waived by Los Angeles ahead of the 2022 campaign and remained a free agent until landing a reserve/future contract with Pittsburgh in January. The Houston product once again finds himself without a team and hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since 2021.

Emeke Egbule: Back in action
Egbule (illness) was restored to the Chargers' practice squad from the practice squad COVID-19 list Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Egbule landed on the practice squad COVID-19 list Monday, but he has cleared the health and safety protocols in short order. He was elevated for the team's Week 16 matchup and could be active again for Sunday's game against Denver.

Emeke Egbule: No longer with LA
Egbule was waived by the Chargers on Tuesday, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
A sixth-round pick back in 2019, Egbule played just 56 defensive snaps over the past two seasons, instead operating primarily in a special teams capacity. Given his familiarity with the team, it's possible the 24-year-old could return via the practice squad.

Chargers' Emeke Egbule: Shakes off illness
Egbule (illness) was absent from Thursday's injury report.
Egbule missed last week's divisional win over the Raiders, but he'll return to the lineup for this week's matchup against the Broncos. The second-year linebacker mainly contributes on special teams.

Chargers' Emeke Egbule: Missing Thursday's game
Egbule (illness) won't play in Thursday's divisional game against the Raiders.
It appears that Eguble is dealing with a non-COVID-19 related illness, as he was unable to practice Tuesday and Wednesday. The Houston product has accumulated just six tackles (four solo), seeing most of his action on special teams, so his absence won't affect the team much. In his stead, Isaac Rochell is in line to see a slight uptick in snaps for Thursday's contest.

Chargers' Emeke Egbule: Heading for LA
The Chargers selected Egbule in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, 200th overall.
Egbule is considered more of an athlete than refined prospect, but he's nonetheless a respectable dart throw for the Chargers this late in the draft given his potential both as a pass rusher and in coverage. The Houston product should have decent odds of carving out a depth role at outside linebacker behind Jatavis Brown, Thomas Davis and Kyzir White.
