Top Mike Washington Jr. News

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Deemed game-time decision

Washington (foot/back) is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's contest against the Rams, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.

Washington managed just one limited session (Wednesday) during Week 7 prep due to foot and back injuries, but a listing of questionable has kept the door open for the rookie fourth-round pick to suit up Sunday. His status will be clarified about 90 minutes before a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, but if Washington is inhibited or sidelined, Dylan Laube will be the primary backup to No. 1 RB Ashton Jeanty.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Listed questionable for Sunday

Washington (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, Sam Warren of The Athletic reports.

Washington has barely practiced this week, and it seems like he could be on the wrong side of the questionable tag as a rookie who hasn't seen many practice reps during Week 7 prep. If Washington is unable to gain clearance against Los Angeles, Dylan Laube would likely see increased snaps behind Ashton Jeanty.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Misses Friday's practice

Washington (foot) was not spotted at Friday's practice, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

With Washington having already been downgraded to a non-participant Thursday, his absence Friday casts more doubt on his availability for Sunday's game against the Rams. Dylan Laube could be in line for more backfield work behind Ashton Jeanty.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Downgraded to DNP on Thursday

Washington (foot/back) downgraded to DNP on Thursday, Anthony Galaviz of The Fresno Bee reports.

After being limited in Wednesday's practice, Thursday's downgrade is an ominous sign for Washington's availability Sunday against the Rams. If the rookie running back is unable to play, Ashton Jeanty and Dylan Laube would be in line to handle most of the backfield work for Las Vegas.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Looks set to miss Thursday's practice

Washington (foot/back) wasn't on the field for the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Sam Warren of The Athletic reports.

After taking limited reps Wednesday due to a pair of injuries, Washington looks like he'll be downgraded to a non-participant for the Raiders' second practice of Week 7. Washington will likely need to get back on the field Friday in some capacity to put himself on a path to play Sunday versus the Rams. In the event the rookie fourth-round pick is unable to suit up this weekend, starter Ashton Jeanty could be forced to take on a heavier workload out of the backfield, while Dylan Laube would step in as the top complementary option.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Limited Wednesday

Washington (foot/back) was limited in Wednesday's practice, Around The NFL reports.

It's the first time this season Washington has been listed on the injury report, and it's unclear if his injuries are anything notable or just some general soreness. The rookie running back logged a season-high 34.8 percent of the Raiders' offensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Bills, and he matched his season high with nine carries. Washington has appeared to be closing the gap some on Ashton Jeanty atop the depth chart, as Jeanty has been extremely inefficient with his rushing attempts this season.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Leads team in rushing in loss

Washington rushed nine times for 43 yards in Sunday's 33-30 loss to the Bills. He added one catch for seven yards on one target.

After touching the ball just two times in Week 5 against New England, Washington ended up leading the Raiders in rushing against Buffalo. His nine carries were just one fewer than Ashton Jeanty, though Jeanty remained a fixture in the passing game, seeing six targets. Washington remains one of the better fantasy bench stashes, as Jeanty continues to play at less than 100 percent health.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Only two touches in Week 5 loss

Washington logged a five-yard carry and caught his lone target for five yards during the Raiders' 45-17 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.

Ashton Jeanty ended up being cleared to play Sunday after working through ankle and foot injuries during Week 5 prep, so Washington operated in his usual rotational role. He ended playing one five offensive snaps, well behind Jeanty (45) and Dylan Laube (23), so Washington's grip on the RB2 role seems to have weakened. The Raiders will return home for their next two games, starting with a Week 7 tilt against the Bills on Oct. 18.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Unlikely to see major boost

Washington should be in line for his regular role Sunday against New England with Ashton Jeanty (foot/ankle) listed as active for the contest.

Washington was a hot name on the waiver wire this week after news surfaced of starter Ashton Jeanty dealing with a plantar fasciitis flare-up. The ankle/foot problems forced Jeanty to practice in a limited basis Thursday and miss Friday's session entirely, leading to some speculation that Jeanty would be in danger of missing the Week 5 matchup. Of course, Washington would have taken on a much greater role in that situation, but Jeanty's pregame warmup appeared to go well, and he was ultimately cleared for action. Washington still would be the next man up in the event of a re-injury or other form of aggravation, however.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Bottled up against Kansas City

Washington rushed nine times for 18 yards in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Chiefs. He added one catch for minus-1 yard on two targets.

Washington's nine carries were his most in a single game to begin the season and came one week after he broke out for 54 yards and a touchdown on five carries against the Saints. The rookie running back closed the gap some on Ashton Jeanty atop the backfield, but Washington didn't do much with his chances against Kansas City. He remains one of the stronger fantasy bench stashes.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Makes most of limited touches

Washington turned five carries into 54 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 35-27 win over the Saints.

Washington was only on the field for 11 of the team's 70 offensive snaps, but he still left his mark on the contest. Most notably, the running back broke loose for a 36-yard rushing touchdown late in the third quarter. Washington is a distant No. 2 option behind Ashton Jeanty in the backfield, but he has now rushed 15 times for 102 yards and a touchdown over three contests to open the 2026 campaign.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Three carries in victory

Washington rushed three times for seven yards while failing to catch his only target during Sunday's 26-14 win over the Chargers.

Washington was far less efficient with his carries in Week 2, averaging 2.3 YPC after he turned seven carries into 41 yards against the Dolphins in the team's regular-season opener. The running back operated as a distant No. 2 option in the backfield, as Ashton Jeanty logged 21 carries for 48 yards while catching four of seven targets for 15 yards. Washington is nothing more than a bench stash option in fantasy leagues at the moment.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Impresses on seven carries in win

Washington rushed seven times for 41 yards in the Raiders' 27-13 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.

After Ashton Jeanty dealt with an ankle sprain for the previous month, it was unclear if the Raiders would dial things back with their star running back. Jeanty went on to handle a full workload, rushing 23 times for 102 yards, while also leading the team in catches and receiving yards with a 6-45-2 line. Washington looked good on his seven chances, but it's clear Jeanty is healthy, making Washington a mere bench stash in fantasy.

  • Raiders' Mike Washington: Expected to be involved in Week 1 plan

Washington could still play a sizable role Week 1 against the Dolphins, even with Ashton Jeanty (ankle) expected to suit up, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.

Washington impressed the Raiders' coaching staff in the preseason, during which the rookie fourth-round pick rushed for 168 yards on 23 carries across three games, averaging a robust 7.3 YPC. Jeanty has returned to full practice participation in the week leading up to Sunday's regular-season opener against the Dolphins, but the 2025 first-round pick missed a chunk of practice time due to the ankle injury he suffered Aug. 23. With Jeanty still shaking off the cobwebs, Washington is primed for some added opportunities in his regular-season debut as the Raiders face the Dolphins in a battle between two teams expected to finish near the bottom of the standings this season.
