Rhattigan (knee/illness) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Commanders.
Rhattigan was unable to practice all week due to a knee injury and an illness, so it's no surprise he'll miss Carolina's Week 7 contest. The Army product had appeared in all six of the Panthers' games prior to his injury, recording four total tackles across 122 special-teams snaps.

Seahawks' Jon Rhattigan: Back in action
Rhattigan (elbow) recorded five tackles (three solo) in Saturday's 22-14 preseason win over the Cowboys.
Rhattigan was battling an elbow injury leading up to this game, but it's still notable that undrafted rookie Patrick O'Connell started ahead of him and posted seven tackles in the process, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. Through two years in the league, Rhattigan has only played on special teams, so his roster spot isn't a lock heading into 2023.

Seahawks' Jon Rhattigan: Misses practice Saturday
Rhattigan (elbow) did not practice Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Rhattigan is dealing with "an elbow that's bothering him," according to head coach Pete Carroll, and the linebacker is going to get a couple days off. The Seahawks play Saturday versus the Cowboys, so the 24-year still has ample time to get right before Seattle's next game action.

Seahawks' Jon Rhattigan: Will miss Weeks 1 through 4
Seattle moved Rhattigan (ACL) from the active/PUP list to the reserve/PUP list Wednesday, John Boyle of Seahawks.com reports.
The move means Rhattigan will have to miss at least the first four weeks of the regular season according to NFL rules. The sophomore linebacker out of Army tore his ACL last December, which is apparently still holding him out of action with the 2022 campaign approaching. Rhattigan played exclusively on special teams in 2021 and will likely return to a similar role once he's ready to play again.
