Rams' Quentin Lake: Records sack versus Bears
Lake logged six tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, during the Rams' 24-18 loss Sunday versus the Bears.
Lake was productive for Los Angeles despite the loss as he registered his first sack of the campaign. The 25-year-old has tallied 37 tackles (21 solo) through four games and is currently on pace for the best season of his career.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Reaches double-digit tackles
Lake recorded 11 tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 41-10 loss to the Cardinals.
Lake has reached double-digit combined tackles in back-to-back weeks to kick off the 2024 campaign, with his total on Sunday being a single-game career high. His now 21 total tackles puts him in the top-10 in the league, and the second most of all safeties, trailing only Nick Cross. Lake will try to keep his momentum going in Week 3 against the 49ers.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Suiting up Sunday
Lake (hip) is active Sunday against the Cardinals, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Lake was expected to play despite the questionable tag, according to head coach Sean McVay. The third-year pro's ability to suit up should be good news for the Rams secondary, which will be healthy for Week 2 with Cobie Durant (toe) also active.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Questionable for Sunday
Lake (hip) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Cardinals, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Head coach Sean McVay told reporters before Friday's practice that Lake is expected to play in Sunday's contest despite being officially listed as questionable on the Rams' injury report, per Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. However, there's still a chance Lake is unable to play in Week 2 due to his hip injury, and if that's the case, Russ Yeast will likely assume the Rams' slot corner duties.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Added to injury report
Lake (hip) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Lake was a full participant during Wednesday's practice session, but he appears to be working through a hip issue. Friday's injury report should indicate Lake's status for Week 2 against the Cardinals. The 2022 sixth-round pick led the Rams with 10 tackles in their Week 1 overtime loss against the Lions.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Leads team in tackles
Lake recorded 10 tackles (five solo) and one quarterback hit during Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss against the Lions.
The third-year pro had a career-high 10 tackles, leading the secondary who kept Jared Goff in check for much of the evening. Lake stayed on the field for every snap on defense, and this encouraging usage on a defense already suffering from the injury bug will likely keep Lake busy in a Week 2 showdown on the road against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Favorite to earn starting role
Lake is expected to start at free safety this season, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
Lake finished 2023 as the team's starter, but that wasn't necessarily guaranteed to carry over in 2024. With competition from rookie Kamren Kinchens and the returning John Johnson, he was expected to have to earn the job. However, although the starting role appears to be his to lose, Lake has seen work at cornerback as well, so his position on the Rams' defense may not be set in stone.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Develops into starting role
Lake logged 53 tackles (42 solo), six passes defended and recovered a fumble during the 2023 regular season over 14 games played.
Through the first half of the 2023 season, Lake looked like he was going to continue his role from his rookie year as a special teams regular with scant usage on defense, but he replaced Russ Yeast as a starter after a Week 10 bye and performed well despite suffering a hamstring injury that cost him three games. With Jordan Fuller an unrestricted free agent, Lake will likely retain his starting role in 2024 barring a splash by the Rams in the draft or free agency.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Solid outing in loss
Lake recorded five total tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 26-25 win over the Giants.
The second-year pro made just the fourth start of his career Sunday, taking Los Angeles' starting free safety duties from John Johnson since returning from injury in Week 15. Lake has now made five-or-more tackles in each of his last five outings as well, bringing his season total up to 50 tackles. Expect Lake to continue starting in the Rams' secondary in their Week 18 game against the 49ers.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Logs estimated full practice
The Rams estimated Lake to be a full practice participant Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
The team held a "jog-through" Wednesday, so Lake didn't handle the rigors of a regular practice session. Nonetheless, the fact that he was estimated as a full participant bodes well for the safety's chances of returning from a three-game absence to face Washington in Week 15. Prior to him getting hurt, Lake's role had been steadily increasing, and he logged 100 percent of the Rams' defensive snaps for the first time this season against Seattle in Week 11.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Could return against Commanders
Head coach Sean McVay noted Monday that he expects Lake (hamstring) back this week, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Lake has missed the last three games after he sustained a hamstring injury in Week 11 against the Seahawks. He was able to practice in a limited fashion last week but ultimately did not suit up in Sunday's 37-31 OT loss to the Ravens. If Lake is able to progress in his practice participation this week, he'll resume his starting spot at free safety alongside strong safety Jordan Fuller.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Remains sidelined
Lake (hamstring) is inactive Sunday against the Ravens, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Lake was expected to return in Week 14 after missing the team's previous two games, but ultimately he will not. John Johnson should draw the start again at free safety in place of Lake.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Could play Week 14
Lake (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
The second-year safety out of UCLA was able to log a limited practice session Thursday after recording a DNP on Wednesday, making it seem as if he could be trending in the right direction to play Sunday. Head coach Sean McVay told reporters Friday that he expects Lake to suit up in Week 14, but the team will be careful with his hamstring issue, per Rodrigue. Even if Lake can go Sunday, John Johnson will likely see an uptick in snaps in the Rams' secondary.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Practices Thursday
Lake (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's session, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
It's a step in the right direction for the starting free safety ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Ravens. Lake has missed the last two games with his injury. The second-year pro has 33 tackles, three passes defensed and a fumble recovery in 2023.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Misses practice Wednesday
Lake (hamstring) was a nonparticipant at the Rams' "jog-through" practice Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Lake has been unavailable for the team's last two games while nursing a hamstring injury and he remained sidelined at the first estimated practice session of the week. The safety will likely need to log at least a limited session before the end of the week if he's going to return to the field for Sunday's matchup with the Ravens.

Rams' Quentin Lake: Nearing return
Lake (hamstring) could return to the field in Week 14 versus the Ravens, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Lake is considered to be "trending up" from his hamstring injury and is likely to be back for Week 15, if not Sunday against Baltimore. The safety has missed the last two contests since getting hurt in the team's Week 11 win over Seattle, and his return to the field would provide the team with a major boost to its secondary ahead of a tough matchup with the Ravens.
