Cardinals' Tyler Allgeier: Breaks off 22-yard TD in loss
Allgeier rushed eight times for 42 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-24 loss to the Giants. He added two catches for seven yards on two targets.
After Jeremiyah Love appeared to distance himself from Allgeier in Week 3 against the 49ers, Allgeier ended up out-snapping the rookie running back against the Giants. Love out-carried Allgeier 14 to eight Sunday, but it was Allgeier who found the end zone with a 22-yard score in the first quarter to give Arizona a 14-3 lead. Through four games, Allgeier has rushed 32 times for 112 yards and a touchdown, adding 10 catches for 35 yards on 10 targets. Splitting time with Love, Allgeier is touchdown-or-bust fantasy option most weeks.

Cardinals' Tyler Allgeier: Four receptions in loss
Allgeier rushed twice for a loss of one yard and caught all four of his targets for 10 yards in the Cardinals' 36-30 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.
Allgeier wasn't asked to rush much. The No. 2 running back left most of the carries to rookie Jeremiyah Love. The 26-year-old racked up his points on screen passes and checkdowns, catching everything thrown his way for minimal gains.

Cardinals' Tyler Allgeier: Seven touches in loss
Allgeier turned five carries into 10 yards and caught both of his targets for nine yards in Sunday's 31-7 loss to the Seahawks.
Allgeier saw a substantial reduction in his rush attempts in Week 2, going from 17 carries Week 1 versus the Chargers to only having five in Sunday's blowout loss. The running back and the rest of Arizona's offense never found any sort of sustained success against Seattle, so he was far from being the only disappointing player in the contest. Notably, rookie first-rounder Jeremiyah Love garnered four more carries and reeled in one more catch than Allgeier, and the latter figures to fade into a No. 2 role as the season progresses.

Cardinals' Tyler Allgeier: Robust workload in Week 1 win
Allgeier rushed 17 times for 61 yards and brought in both targets for nine yards in the Cardinals' 26-14 win over the Chargers on Sunday.
Allgeier lived up to his No. 1 slotting on the Week 1 depth chart, outpacing Jeremiyah Love by six carries and matching the rookie's reception total, albeit on two fewer targets. Allgeier did scuffle for rushing yards all afternoon long, but the veteran back helped keep the Chargers defense honest and proved capable of leading the ground attack. Love should be in line for a progressive boost in volume as the season unfolds, and there's no doubt as to which player between him and Allgeier has the higher ceiling; nevertheless, the latter should continue to see plenty of opportunity during a Week 2 home divisional clash with the defending champion Seahawks next Sunday.

Cardinals' Tyler Allgeier: No. 1 back on unofficial depth chart
Allgeier was listed as the starting running back on the Cardinals' unofficial depth chart in advance of Sunday's season opener versus the Chargers, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.
Head coach Mike LaFleur expressed optimism Tuesday that rookie Jeremiyah Love would be ready to play Sunday after suffering a high-ankle sprain in the Cardinals' preseason opener, but the No. 3 overall pick in April's draft isn't expected to handle a workhorse role right away. Allgeier appears well-positioned to have a meaningful role in the Week 1 game plan, whether he ends up starting or not.

Cardinals' Tyler Allgeier: Could have prominent role early
Allgeier is poised to begin the regular season splitting carries with Jeremiyah Love (ankle), whom Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports is progressing well in his recovery and trending toward being available for Week 1.
Love is expected to eventually take on the lead role after being drafted third overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, but the rookie is likely to be eased in as he recovers from a preseason ankle injury, if he's cleared at all to suit up against the Chargers in Week 1 on Sunday, Sept. 13. Allgeier has rushed for at least 514 yards in each of his four regular seasons, the last three of which were spent backing up Bijan Robinson, so the former Falcons running back figures to maintain some level of involvement even once Love is fully up to speed. James Conner (foot) is on IR with a designation to return, so Bam Knight is currently the only healthy alternative to Allgeier on the roster.
