  • Commanders' Jordan Magee: Activated from IR, playing Monday

The Commanders activated Magee (hamstring) from injured reserve, and he is active for Monday night's game against the 49ers.

Magee has been cleared to return from a four-game absence due to a hamstring injury that he sustained in Week 1 against the Eagles. The third-year pro is expected to work mostly on special teams, but his return bolsters the Commanders' depth at inside linebacker behind starters Frankie Luvu and rookie first-rounder Sonny Styles.

  • Commanders' Jordan Magee: Returns to practice Thursday

Magee (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Thursday.

Magee suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 1 loss to Philadelphia. As a result, he was placed on injured reserve and missed the last four contests. Magee can be activated any time in the next 21 days, meaning there's a chance he will suit up Monday night against the 49ers.

  • Commanders' Jordan Magee: Lands on IR with hamstring injury

The Commanders placed Magee (hamstring) on injured reserve Wednesday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.

Magee suffered a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter of the Commanders' 24-22 loss to the Eagles on Sunday. His placement on IR means Magee will be forced to miss at least the next four games, making Week 6 against the 49ers on Monday, Oct. 19 the earliest he can return. Frankie Luvu (groin) also sustained an injury against Philadelphia, and if cannot play against the Cowboys in Week 2, then Leo Chenal would likely fill in as the Commanders' second starting inside linebacker alongside rookie first-rounder Sonny Styles.

  • Commanders' Jordan Magee: Questionable to return Sunday

Magee is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Eagles due to a hamstring injury.

Magee -- who has been filling in on defense following the exit of Frankie Luvu (groin) -- appeared to sustain the injury during a Jalen Hurts scramble in the fourth quarter. Leo Chenal figures to see an uptick in defensive snaps next to Sonny Styles for as long as Magee is out of action.

  • Commanders' Jordan Magee: Full participant Wednesday

Magee (chest) practiced in full Wednesday.

Barring a setback, Magee is on track to suit up for Week 1 versus the Eagles. The 25-year-old most recently appeared in 17 regular-season games for the Commanders during the 2025 campaign, amassing 54 total tackles and one passes defended.

  • Commanders' Jordan Magee: Suffers shoulder injury

Magee suffered a shoulder injury during Friday's preseason opener against the Dolphins, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Magee is set to be held out of practice for a week, but the issue does not appear to be cause for long-term concern. With the linebacker set to miss Saturday's preseason contest with the Lions, Kain Medrano or Krys Barnes could see a large share of defensive reps.

  • Commanders' Jordan Magee: Misses Tuesday practice

Magee (undisclosed) did not participate in Tuesday's practice, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Magee does not currently have a return timeline set. The Commanders signed an additional linebacker Tuesday morning, meaning Magee could be set to miss an extended period of time. If the 25-year-old must work his way back from a significant issue, Kain Medrano or Krys Barnes could see additional reps during Saturday's preseason showdown with the Lions.

  • Commanders' Jordan Magee: Increased production in Year 2

Magee recorded 54 total tackles (31 solo) and a pass defensed over 17 games during the 2025 regular season.

Magee was limited to 24 total defensive snaps over the team's first six contests of the year, but he then saw an expanded role as a rotational linebacker, playing no fewer than 14 snaps on defense in the team's remaining 11 regular-season games. As a result, the 24-year-old was able to finish sixth on Washington's defense in total takedowns, far exceeding the nine total tackles he compiled in his rookie campaign in 2024. With starting outside linebacker Von Miller entering the offseason as a free agent, Magee could have a chance to step into a starting role next year.

  • Commanders' Jordan Magee: Cleared for Week 11

Magee (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins in Madrid.

Magee was limited in practice all week and took a questionable tag into Sunday, but he'll be ready to reprise his typical duties as a rotational linebacker. After being limited almost exclusively to special teams in the Commanders' first six games, Magee has played at least one-third of the defensive snaps in each of the last four games while totaling 16 tackles.
