Terrell (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports. • Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Designated to return from IR

  Rotowire Oct 21, 2026

Terrell (groin) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official website reports. Terrell has been on injured reserve since Sept. 22 while recovering from a groin injury that he suffered in Week 2 versus the Panthers. The Falcons have now opened the cornerback's 21-day practice window, and if he is not activated before the end of that period, he will remain on IR for the rest of the season.

  Rotowire Sep 18, 2026

Henderson may be tasked with taking on more prominent roles alongside Mike Hughes.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Another impressive season

  Rotowire Jan 8, 2026

Terrell recorded 68 total tackles (49 solo), 12 passes defensed and two forced fumbles over 15 regular-season games in 2025. Despite playing 86 fewer defensive snaps in 2025 than in 2024, Terrell still registered more total tackles (66 to 68), passes defensed (six to 12) and forced fumbles (zero to two) than he did last season. The veteran corner from Clemson has proven to be one of the NFL's premier defensive backs, posting 61 passes defensed, including six interceptions, since entering the league in 2020. Under contract through the 2028 season, Terrell is expected to remain a key portion of the Falcons' secondary for years to come.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Good to go vs. New Orleans

  Rotowire Jan 4, 2026

Terrell (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Saints, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Terrell was added to Saturday's injury report due to an illness, but it won't prevent him from playing in Sunday's NFC South clash. The sixth-year pro has logged 64 tackles (46 solo), 12 pass defenses and one forced fumble through 14 regular-season games.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Questionable with illness

  Rotowire Jan 3, 2026

Terrell (illness) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Saints, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports. Terrell was a new addition to Saturday's injury report with a sudden illness. If the cornerback is unable to overcome the issue in time for Sunday's divisional clash, he will likely be inactive for the game. If Terrell is unable to play, Natrone Brooks would be set to start at outside cornerback opposite Cobee Bryant.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Dealing with neck issue

  Rotowire Dec 9, 2025

Terrell (neck) was a limited participant during the Falcons' walkthrough practice Tuesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Terrell tied his season-high tackle total (eight) Sunday versus the Seahawks, but it looks like he may have picked up a neck injury along the way. He'll only get one chance to log a full practice prior to Thursday's game at Tampa Bay, so his name will be worth checking on when Atlanta releases its last practice report of the week Wednesday.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Solid showing Sunday

  Rotowire Nov 18, 2025

Terrell recorded six tackles (five solo) and two passes defensed during Sunday's 30-27 overtime loss versus the Panthers. Carolina quarterback Bryce Young threw for a franchise record 448 yards in Week 11, but Terrell seemed to mostly hold his own, and he still hasn't had a touchdown thrown against him this season. His prowess in coverage means opposing offenses often avoid throwing to his side of the field, keeping him from IDP relevancy in most formats.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Good to go against Buffalo

  Rotowire Oct 11, 2025

Terrell (hamstring) does not carry an injury designation into Monday's game against the Bills, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Terrell missed the Falcons' last two games due to a hamstring injury he sustained against the Vikings in Week 2. He received an extra week to rest and rehab from his injury thanks to the Falcons' Week 5 bye, and that extra time has enabled the 2020 first-rounder to suit up for Monday's home tilt against Buffalo. Terrell should reclaim his starting spot at outside corner opposite Mike Hughes, which will revert Dee Alford to a rotational role.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Out for Week 4

  Rotowire Sep 26, 2025

Terrell (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Commanders, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The Clemson product will miss his second consecutive game after sustaining a hamstring injury in Atlanta's Week 2 win over the Vikings. Terrell will get extra time to rest by sitting out in Week 4, as the Falcons have a Week 5 bye. Expect Natrone Brooks and Clark Phillips to see increased reps as outside corners while Terrell is sidelined Sunday.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Still not practicing

  Rotowire Sep 24, 2025

Terrell (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports. Terrell suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2 against Minnesota and didn't practice at all last week before missing this past Sunday's matchup versus Carolina. Coach Raheem Morris said last week that Terrell is considered "week-to-week," so he's iffy, at best, for this coming Sunday's game against Washington. If he's unable to play again, Dee Alford would likely get another start at cornerback.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Considered week-to-week

  Rotowire Sep 17, 2025

Terrell (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday. Coach Raheem Morris added that Terrell is considered week-to-week, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, so it sounds like the Falcons are going to be without their top cornerback against Tetairoa McMillan and the Panthers in Week 3. Terrell suffered the injury in last Sunday night's win over the Vikings.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Grabs another pick vs. Bucs

  Rotowire Oct 28, 2024

Terrell recorded seven total tackles (six solo) and one interception in Sunday's 31-26 win over the Buccaneers. The Clemson product finished tied as the Falcons' second-leading tackler Sunday, trailing only Kaden Elliss' 11-stop effort. Terrell was also one of two Falcons to pick off Baker Mayfield in Week 8, intercepting a pass in the fourth quarter to help Atlanta maintain a two-score lead. The 26-year-old corner is expected to continue making plays for the Falcons' defense in Week 9, when the Cowboys come to Atlanta.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Inks four-year extension

  Rotowire Aug 22, 2024

Terrell agreed Thursday with the Falcons on a four-year, $81 million contract extension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The deal includes $65.8 million guaranteed and makes Terrell the second-highest paid cornerback on an annual basis at $20.25 million, trailing only the Packers' Jaire Alexander, per Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com. Terrell, whom the Falcons took 16th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, was a second-team All-Pro selection in 2021, when he recorded career highs in tackles (81), pass breakups (16) and interceptions (three). He hasn't recorded an interception over the last two seasons, but he's still amassed 20 pass breakups during that span.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Forces zero turnovers in 2023

  Rotowire Jan 17, 2024

Terrell finished 2023 with 45 tackles (34 solo) and 11 pass defenses in 17 appearances. Terrell is considered one of the best cover cornerbacks in the league, but he's struggled to generate production the last two seasons, especially in the playmaking department. After totaling four interceptions and four forced fumbles across his first two NFL seasons, the 2020 first-round pick has recorded just one fumble recovery over the last two campaigns. As long as that trend continues, Terrell is a better player in real life than fantasy. Atlanta exercised the fifth-year team option for 2024 on Terrell's rookie deal, so he'll be back next season, though he's slated to be an unrestricted free agent after that.

• Falcons' A.J. Terrell: Questionable for Sunday

  Rotowire Dec 8, 2023

Terrell (concussion) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. The All-Pro cornerback seems to be trending in the right direction to play this weekend, as he went from logging a limited practice session Thursday to a full workload Friday. Nonetheless, Terrell must clear concussion protocol in order to suit up Sunday, and if he's unable to do so, Dee Alford and Clark Phillips would likely see more work in the Falcons' secondary.
