Oshie (upper body) was put on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site. Oshie is not with the Capitals on the road after being injured in Friday's 5-0 loss to Edmonton. He will miss at least the next three contests, starting with Monday's game against the Sharks, following his placement on the IR list. Oshie has one goal, one assist, 30 shots on net, 14 blocked shots and 19 hits through 17 appearances this campaign. In a corresponding move, Martin Fehervary (lower body) was activated from injured reserve.... See More ... See Less

Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Suffers injury Friday
Oshie is dealing with an upper-body injury after Friday's tilt with Edmonton and will not travel to San Jose for Monday's game against the Sharks, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Oshie will miss at least one game after suffering an injury Friday but it's unclear if he'll be available at any point during Washington's upcoming five-game road trip. The veteran winger has been held to just two points with a minus-4 rating through 17 games this season. In his absence, Matthew Phillips could slide back into the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Just first goal of season
Oshie scored his first goal of the season Wednesday in a 4-3 overtime win over Buffalo. Oshie tied the score 2-2 in the second when he backhanded a rebound from the slot that beat Devon Levi. The 36-year-old winger has just two points in 16 games, and Wednesday's was his first since Oct. 25. It's a far cry from his 35 points in 58 games last season. The end could be drawing near for Oshie.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Taking maintenance day
Oshie was held out of Monday's practice for maintenance reasons, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports. The Capitals can only hope some added rest will jumpstart Oshie's offensive game -- he has only mustered a single assist in 13 games. Once a reliable contributor at both ends of the ice, it's possible age and a lengthy injury history has caught up with the 36-year-old winger. Only a meaningful presence on the top power-play unit stands between Oshie and becoming a non-factor in most fantasy formats.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Chips in with helper
Oshie logged an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Devils. Oshie has had a tough go to start 2023-24 -- his helper Wednesday was his first point of the campaign. The winger has been generating chances with 15 shots on net, and he's added seven hits, four PIM and a minus-3 rating. The 36-year-old should continue to see middle-six minutes at even strength as well as time on the top power-play unit.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Ready to rock
Oshie (back) is listed as healthy for training camp, per the Capitals' camp roster released Tuesday. Oshie underwent a double ablation on his back in April. The 36-year-old hasn't played more than 69 games in any of the last five seasons, so the injury risk remains high. When healthy, Oshie should function as a top-six forward with power-play time.... Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Undergoes back procedure
Oshie underwent a double ablation on his back Friday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Oshie said that he feels good after the procedure. He missed games on three separate occasions due to back woes during the 2022-23 season. Oshie completed the season with 19 goals, 16 assists, 126 shots on goal and 125 hits in 58 contests.... Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Done for season
Oshie (upper body) has been shut down for the remainder of the season, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports. Oshie, who has missed the past three games, will sit out Washington's final three contests of the 2022-23 campaign. It's unclear at this time if he will need to undergo surgery. Head coach Peter Laviolette revealed Monday that the injury has been bothering Oshie for a while. The 36-year-old forward will finish the year with 19 goals, 35 points, 126 shots on net and 125 hits in 58 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Still sidelined
Oshie (upper body) won't play Saturday versus Florida, Sammie Silber of The Hockey News reports. The Capitals aren't going to make the playoffs, and the team will only have three games remaining following Saturday's contest, so it's possible Oshie will miss the rest of the campaign. If that ends up being the case, the 36-year-old vet will finish the season having picked up 19 goals, 35 points and an unsightly minus-18 rating through 58 games.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Won't make trip
Oshie (upper body) will not travel with the Habs for their matchup against Montreal on Thursday, Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports. Prior to getting hurt, Oshie was stuck in a four-game pointless streak during which he put eight shots on net. Despite his recent slump, the veteran winger needs just one more tally to get over the 20-goal threshold for the fourth time in the last five seasons. Without Oshie in the lineup, Alexei Protas will take his place on a line with Nicklas Backstrom and Sonny Milano.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Not playing Sunday
Oshie (upper body) won't play Sunday against the Rangers, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports. Oshie has produced 19 goals, 35 points, 126 shots on net and 125 hits in 58 appearances this season. He is considered day-to-day. Sonny Milano (upper body) will replace Oshie in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Not skating Saturday
Oshie did not practice Saturday after departing Thursday's contest with an upper-body injury, per Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington. Oshie's status appears in doubt for Sunday's matchup with the Rangers. The 36-year-old winger has 19 goals and 16 assists through 58 games this season. Washington will likely bring someone up from AHL Hershey if Oshie is unable to dress Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Suffers upper-body injury
Oshie won't return to Thursday's game against Tampa Bay because of an upper-body injury. Before exiting the contest, Oshie had a minus-1 rating and a shot in 6:07 of ice time. He was held off the scoresheet in his previous three outings and five of his past six appearances. Going into Thursday's action, Oshie recorded 19 goals and 35 points in 57 games. It remains to be seen if he'll be available Sunday versus the Rangers.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Adds two points Tuesday
Oshie recorded a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 7-6 overtime loss to Columbus. Oshie extended Washington's lead to 2-0 in the first period, deflecting a Martin Fehervary shot past Charlie Lindgren, before adding an assist on Sonny Milano's goal in the second. Oshie's averaged over a point per game since the middle of February, tallying nine goals and nine assists in his last 17 games. The 36-year-old winger is up to 19 goals and 16 assists through 54 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Stays hot with two points
Oshie scored a power-play goal and added an assist in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Sabres. He also converted in the shootout. Oshie extended his point streak to four games in the opening frame with his 18th goal. Half of those have come on the power play. He added an assist on Evgeny Kuznetsov's even-strength tally early in the third. Oshie has heated up as the Capitals make their playoff push down the stretch, producing seven goals and six assists over his last 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Scores game-winner vs. Islanders
Oshie found the back of the net in Saturday's 5-1 victory over the Islanders. Oshie's marker late in the first period put Washington up 2-1 and ultimately proved to be the game-winner. He has 17 goals and 30 points in 49 contests this season. Oshie has been red hot lately, contributing six goals and 10 points over his last eight outings.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Stays hot with goal
Oshie tallied a power-play goal while adding two shots and three hits during Saturday's 8-3 win over the Sharks. Oshie has been arguably the Capitals' most valuable player of late, nurturing a five-game point streak (five goals, three assists) and catalyzing an often anemic Washington offense that needs to get going to salvage the team's playoff hopes. The 36-year-old winger is a solid fantasy asset when healthy and producing, so roll him out while he's hot.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Sets up game-winner
Oshie logged an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Ducks. Oshie has four goals and three assists during his four-game point streak. He picked an excellent time to keep the run alive Wednesday, setting up Tom Wilson's tally in overtime. Oshie is up to 15 goals, 12 helpers, 105 shots on net, 94 hits and a minus-11 rating through 45 contests overall, right in line with the production he posted last year.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Two-point effort Sunday
Oshie scored a goal and an assist in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Sabres. Both points came in the first period, as Washington kept things close for 20 minutes before the wheels came off. The 36-year-old is on a tear, racking up four goals and six points over the last three games, and he appears to have moved back into a top-six role for the Caps -- only Alex Ovechkin and Dylan Strome saw more ice time at even strength Sunday than Oshie.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Three points against Blueshirts
Oshie scored two goals, one on the power play, and added an even-strength assist in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Rangers. He potted the Caps' first two goals on the afternoon before helping to set up Sonny Milano for the eventual game-winner. Oshie has come alive since the All-Star break, racking up four goals and seven points over the last six games, but the 36-year-old winger has just 14 goals and 24 points through 43 contests overall....
