Instead of trying to make the BCS picture clearer, I sought out to find a path to BCS chaos in the Week 9 edition of the Doddcast. Dennis Dodd joins me again, this time to look at the homestretch of the regular season and possible implications in the chase to finish as one of the top two teams in the BCS standings.
There are 10 unbeaten teams left with six weeks to play in the regular season, with a handful of BCS-worthy one-loss teams waiting for an opportunity to move up. What makes the final stretch so enticing is how many of these potential title contenders will face each other on the field. As Dennis points out, there are a lot of factors in play by the time you get to November -- the month in which anything can happen in college football.
Stick around to the end, for a few minutes dedicated to the strongest non-AQ conference in college football this season, the Mid-American Conference. The MAC has the second-most bowl-eligible teams at this point, as well as a possible BCS buster in Ohio.
