  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Activated by Dolphins

Davis (knee) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

Davis missed three games after he sustained a knee injury in the season opener, but he'll be back on the field for Sunday's matchup against Tampa Bay. The 24-year-old should reclaim a starting role on Miami's defensive line.

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Receives return designation

Davis (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Davis has been sidelined by the knee injury since the season opener but is now back at practice for the Dolphins. He could be reinstated for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay if deemed ready to rejoin the active roster.

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: May practice this week

Coach Brian Flores hopes Davis (knee) is able to return to practice this week, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.

Davis has been sidelined since suffering the knee injury in the season opener, but he's eligible to return from injured reserve this week. The 24-year-old should receive the return designation once cleared to practice and will have 21 days to be activated to the roster from that point.

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Lands on IR

The Dolphins placed Davis (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.

Davis injured his knee during the first quarter of Sunday's season opener. John Jenkins replaced him and will likely continue to do so while Davis rehabs. The severity of the injury is unknown, but the 2020 second-round pick will be forced to miss at least three weeks after landing on IR.

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Questionable to return

Davis is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Patriots due to a knee injury.

Davis limped off the field in the first quarter of Sunday's season opener, and the team revealed that his departure was due to a knee issue. John Jenkins should see increased work on the defensive line if the 2020 second-rounder is unable to return.

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Back to practicing in full

Davis (shoulder) was a full participant during Thursday's session, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Davis exited late in Miami's Week 6 win over the Jets with a shoulder injury, though a Week 7 bye afforded the rookie extra recuperation time. The Alabama product is trending towards active status for Sunday's tilt against the Rams, which would keep him without a game missed on the year. So far in 2020, Davis has recorded seven totals tackles, though he's yet to notch his first career sack over 118 defensive snaps. Pass-rushing acumen wasn't a particularly notable part of his skill set for the Crimson Tide, as Davis had just one college season with more than 1.5 sacks (8.5 in 2017).

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Injures shoulder Sunday

Davis (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Jets, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Davis was forced off the field with less than 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. He had two tackles (one solo) before heading to the sideline. As long as the rookie second-round pick remains out, Christian Wilkins stands to handle an increased workload.

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Increased workload on tap

Coach Brian Flores said Thursday that Davis will see increased defensive snaps with Davon Godchaux (biceps) expected to miss three months, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.

Flores also said the rookie second-round pick, who only played 30 percent of defensive snaps Week 5, is "still trying to find his niche." The Dolphins' front seven as a whole is still working to consistently manufacture pressure, so Davis isn't yet worth serious consideration in IDP formats, but the Alabama product's development will warrant close monitoring. Davis' massive frame (6-foot-6, 311 pounds) could lead to consistent production as a run stopper if he were to start handling a full-time role.

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Comes off COVID-19 list

The Dolphins have activated Davis from their reserve/COVID-19 list.

Davis, who the Dolphins took in the second round of the 2020 draft, is thus slated to move into a role on the team's revamped front seven. Per Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com, the Alabama product profiles as a good fit as a 3-4 end in Miami's defense, and at 6-foot-6, 311 pounds, Davis should also be able to make his mark as a run stopper.

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Moves to COVID list

The Dolphins placed Davis (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.

The transaction signals that Davis has either tested positive for COVID-19 or been in close contact with someone who did. Once fully cleared to rejoin teammates, the rookie second-round pick should spend training camp pushing for snaps at nose tackle.

  • Dolphins' Raekwon Davis: Lands in South Beach

The Dolphins selected Davis (ankle) in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 56th overall.

Davis is the latest in a long line of Nick Saban-coached defensive linemen to come to the NFL from Alabama. At 6-foot-6 and 311 pounds, Davis is a mountain of a man who will fit nicely in the middle of the Miami defensive line. However, Davis struggled to find consistency at Alabama and had just three tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks in 12 starts as a senior, so Miami will have to work to get the most out of him. Sometimes his massive frame can hinder him as he's not explosive off the ball and linemen can get leverage under him.
