Barcelona wanted to win six major trophies in the calendar year, but the most that the club can win now is five.

After losing 4-0 in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup on Friday, the 'sextete' is gone as Barca drew 1-1 at home with Athletic Bilbao in the second leg, crowning the visitors as champions. It's Bilbao's first Super Cup title in 31 years.

Lionel Messi scored late in the first half to give the hosts hope, but a red card to Pique and a goal from Aritz Aduriz in the second sealed the reigning European champions' fate.

Barca threatened throughout but the final pass to spring a player through was absent. Bilbao remained tough, was smart on the ball and took advantage of a defensive mistake to score and seal it. The Barca defense was not alert on Aduriz's goal, as the Spanish veteran was left all alone on goal, hitting a shot at goalkeeper Claudio Bravo before finishing the rebound.

Barcelona won La Liga, the Spanish Cup, the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup this year, and the final two missing were the Spanish Super Cup and the Club World Cup in December.

Not the best night for Barcelona. (ESPN screengrab)
