The Tampa Bay Rays mascot isn't a "Devil Ray" or any kind of ocean-dwelling Ray -- note their logo, as they now depict "Ray" as a ray of sunshine. No, it's Raymond the seadog.

Prior to Wednesday's bout with the Dodgers, Raymond broke out his oversized boxing gloves and Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez took part in a sparring session with him. The All-Star landed a few clean blows and came away with the knockout.

Pre-game hijinks! That knockout blow as a little weak. Raymond must have a glass jaw.

You can't beat fun at the ol' ballpark, so said the late, great Harry Caray. I'm not going to argue.

The Rays went on to win, 8-5, so maybe Raymond needs to start sacrificing himself to an opposing player's left hook before the game more often.
