Marco Scutaro diagnosed with hip strain, probable for Game 3
Giants second baseman Marco Scutaro avoided serious injury when he was taken out by Matt Holliday during Game 2. It's likely he'll be in the San Francisco lineup for Game 3.
Good news for the Giants, as second baseman Marco Scutaro managed to avoid serious injury when Matt Holliday leveled him as he attempted to complete a double play in Game 2. X-rays on Tuesday revealed a left hip strain, and the AP's Janie McCauley quotes Giants manager Bruce Bochy as saying there's a "good chance" that Scutaro will be available for Game 3 in St. Louis.
Considering how bad it looked and considering that Scutaro was eventually forced to exit Game 2, the Giants should consider themselves fortunate ...
Since being acquired via midseason trade from Colorado, Scutaro has put up a nifty .859 OPS as a Giant. He's 4-for-8 thus far in the NLCS.
