The Pirates, Tigers, and Red Sox are interested in the services of Diamondbacks' shortstop Stephen Drew, wrote FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.

  • Drew's struggled at the plate in 15 games since returing from right ankle surgery. He's batting .192/.246/.250 with no home runs, three doubles, and three RBI.
  • Drew's earning $7.75 million this season. There's a mutal option on his contract for 2013 worth $10 million, which likely won't be exercised. If that's the case, Drew will walk away with a $1.35 million buyout.
  • Were he acquired by Pittsburgh, Drew would become the Pirates' everyday shortstop, Rosenthal noted.
  • In Boston or Detroit, Drew would be more likely to come off the bench.
  • If the Diamondbacks move Drew, they'll go back to John McDonald (currently on the DL) and Willie Bloomquist at shortstop. McDonald has a .796 OPS in 33 games, and Bloomquist has a .717 OPS in 68 games. Both players are signed through 2013.
