Reed came up with his 10th career interception vs. the Bengals. (US Presswire)

Not surprisingly, Ravens safety Ed Reed intercepted Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton at the end of the third quarter in both teams’ season opener Monday night. Not surprisingly, Reed scored a touchdown after said pick.

Overall, Reed has 10 career interceptions vs. Cincinnati tying his 10 picks vs. the Browns (those Ohio teams: they’re fantastic!), and with his 34-yard interception return with seconds left in the third quarter, he has amassed an NFL-record 1,497 return yards, beating the previous Rod Woodson mark of 1,483.

After his touchdown, Reed returned to the Ravens locker room with a bum hamstring, but with his 58th career interception, he’s tied Emmitt Thomas for 10th on the all-time list.

Reed keeps hinting at retiring, but considering he’s still one of the top safeties in the league, he’d be leaving while still playing at a high level.
