Looking at Michael Strahan's finger is not for the faint of heart. (USATSI)
Looking at Michael Strahan's finger is not for the faint of heart. (USATSI)

Playing in the NFL for 15 years can take its toll on your body. Just ask former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan, who has a finger that's mangled so badly, it looks like it's about to fall off his hand.

Strahan was sitting courtside at a Knicks game this week when the person sitting next to him became highly fascinated with Strahan's mangled finger. Of course, we live in a time where if you're fascinated by something, you're obligated to immediately do two things:

  1. Take a picture of it.
  2. Post that picture to the Internet.

And that's exactly what happened here.

If you won't be able to sleep tonight, or ever again, I apologize.

Anyway, the lesson we learned is that Strahan probably doesn't wear his Super Bowl ring on his left hand when he goes out in public. We've also learned that playing in the NFL for 15 years isn't easy on the finger.

Former Bengals offensive lineman Anthony Munoz can definitely relate to his fellow Hall of Famer.

Anyway, let's hope Michael is poking Kelly Ripa with that creepy finger during tapings of Live with Kelly and Michael.
