Several days before his first NFL start, Jake Locker struggled at times during Tuesday night's practice at the Tennessee Titans' training camp.
Locker is battling Matt Hasselbeck for the starting quarterback spot.
Locker had completed more than 70 percent of his attempts in practice entering the session but sprayed passes high and wide throughout the evening. The second-year quarterback also threw an interception for the first time in more than a week. An interception by S Al Afalava marked just the fourth time that Locker was picked off in camp.
In 2011, Locker tossed 10 interceptions in training camp, according to offensive coordinator Chris Palmer. Locker also underthrew WR Marc Mariani on a deep route down the right sidelines.
Hasselbeck was a little more accurate, but he also threw an interception. Hasselbeck opened 1 of 5 before completing six straight passes. The streak ended when he was intercepted by LB Colin McCarthy in the right flat.
