Sam Young: Retires from NFL
The Raiders placed Young on the reserve/retired list Tuesday.
Young logged seven starts (11 appearances) for the Raiders last season, but the 34-year-old journeyman will now call it a career. He becomes the third player on Las Vegas' roster to retire this training camp, joining James Onwualu and Theo Riddick.

With Brown dealing with a non-COVID illness, Young again earned the start for Week 8's matchup against Cleveland after being cleared to play Sunday morning, but he's been forced out midgame for a second consecutive week.

Young started last week's loss to the Buccaneers because Trent Brown was on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but Young ended up leaving early with a knee injury. He logged limited practices all week and has been cleared to play, but Brown has also been activated and could suit up Sunday depending on his conditioning.
