Texans' Mario Addison: Added to active roster
The Texans activated Addison (thigh) from injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Addison was forced to miss the first four games of the season after landing on injured reserve due to a thigh injury, but he's set to make his season and team debut in Week 5. The veteran pass rusher has recorded at least five sacks in eight consecutive seasons and will look to continue that streak during his first campaign with Houston.

Texans' Mario Addison: Designated to return from IR
Addison (thigh) was designated to return from injured reserve and practiced Tuesday, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Addison opened the season on IR, so he was forced to miss the first four games of the season. It's extremely encouraging that the veteran pass rusher is available to practice at the earliest possible time, but it remains unclear when he'll be ready for game action. The Texans will have a 21-day period to officially activate him from IR, but if they don't, he'll revert back to IR for the remainder of the campaign. Addison has recorded at least five sacks in eight consecutive seasons with two different teams, and when available, he'll look to extend that streak to nine campaigns and three teams.

Texans' Mario Addison: Lands on IR
The Texans have placed Addison (thigh) on injured reserve prior to their Week 1 clash with the Colts.
Addison's placement on IR means he is required to be sidelined for at least four weeks. In his absence, Ogbonnia Okronkwo, Demone Harris and Rasheem Green (thigh) will be the remaining depth options on the edge.

Texans' Mario Addison: Doubtful for opener
Addison (thigh) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Colts.
After practicing in a limited capacity Wednesday, Addison failed to take the field during each of Thursday and Friday's sessions. The specifics of his thigh injury are currently unclear, but it sounds like the 260-pound defensive lineman might need at least one more week to move past the issue.

Texans' Mario Addison: Tests positive for virus
Addison did not play in Houston's preseason opener because he tested positive for COVID-19 last week, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Addison is recovering and expected to rejoin his teammates this week. The 34-year-old defensive lineman signed a two-year deal with the Texans after spending the previous two seasons with the Bills. He recorded 12 sacks in a four-man scheme that fits what head coach Lovie Smith wants to develop in Houston.
