  • Rams' A'Shawn Robinson: Full participant Thursday

Robinson (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday.

Robinson started the week with a limited practice Wednesday but upgraded to full participation Thursday. He had one tackle in Week 1 against Chicago and should continue to work in a rotational role along the Rams' defensive line in Week 2 against the Colts.

  • Rams' A'Shawn Robinson: Undergoes minor surgery

Coach Sean McVay said Thursday that Robinson (knee) will undergo a "minor procedure" and will miss "the next few weeks," Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Robinson missed the first eight games of the 2020 campaign with an undisclosed non-football injury and appears to be at risk of missing the opening game of the 2021 season as well. He primarily played a reserve role for Los Angeles last year, but with Michael Brockers now in Detroit, he was in line for an increased workload this season. If the 2016 second-round pick is unable to suit up for the Sept. 12 regular-season opener, then Eric Banks and Earnest Brown would be the most likely candidates to replace him as the starter.

  • Rams' A'Shawn Robinson: Won't play Sunday

Robinson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game at Miami, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

The 25-year-old was activated from the nonfootball injury list Friday after missing the first seven weeks of the season due to his cardiovascular condition, but he won't immediately be taking the field for the Rams. Robinson will have to wait until Week 10 to make his debut in Los Angeles with the bye on tap next week.

  • Rams' A'Shawn Robinson: Activated from NFI list

The Rams activated Robinson (undisclosed) from the non-football injury list Friday, Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Coach Sean McVay said earlier this week that this move was in the works, and the Rams officially shifted Robinson to the active roster after two weeks of practicing. Robinson was held out due to a cardiovascular condition that involved a "respiratory situation." The Rams still haven't revealed whether Robinson will play Sunday against the Dolphins, although it seems likely at this time. The 25-year-old nose tackle last played for Detroit in 2019, logging 40 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three pass breakups and a forced fumble through 13 games.

  • Rams' A'Shawn Robinson: Returning this week

Coach Sean McVay said Robinson (undisclosed) will be activated from the non-football injury list this week, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

McVay previously said the 25-year-old had a chance of returning for Monday's win over the Bears, so it's not a major surprise he's set to be activated. Robinson has been on the NFI list all season due to a cardiovascular condition, but he was designated to return last week and resumed practicing.

  • Rams' A'Shawn Robinson: Nearing return to action

The Rams designated Robinson (undisclosed) for return Wednesday.

Robinson has resided on the leagues reserve/Non-Football Injury list all season after the Rams' training staff discovered a cardiovascular condition during Robinson's physical. The fact that he's nearing a return to play is a positive sign, as Robinson will likely assume a starting role along the interior of the defensive line when he finally returns to the lineup.

  • Rams' A'Shawn Robinson: Lands on NFI list

Robinson (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/Non-Football Injury list Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Rams' training staff discovered a cardiovascular condition during Robinson's physical, so he'll start the year on the NFI list. Head coach Sean McVay previously stated that he believes Robinson will return at some point this season, but there's no definitive timeline. At this time, it appears Sebastian Joseph-Day will start at nose tackle to begin the year while Greg Gaines rotates in.

  • Rams' A'Shawn Robinson: Has cardiovascular condition

Robinson is tending to a cardiovascular condition that is keeping him out indefinitely, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Robinson opened camp on the active/non-football injury list, the result of the Rams' medical staff discovering the condition during his entry physical. Coach Sean McVay noted Robinson has been present at meetings, and the team anticipates the defensive tackle returning at some point this season. While the Rams have two stalwarts up front in Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers, it's unclear who among Sebastian Joseph-Day, Morgan Fox and Greg Gaines would cover for an absent Robinson.

  • Rams' A'Shawn Robinson: Has undisclosed 'condition'

The Rams placed Robinson (undisclosed) on the active/non-football injury list due to a "condition" that was discovered during his entry physical, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Coach Sean McVay expanded on Robinson's situation, stating there's no timetable for the defensive tackle to make his Rams debut but that it may occur this season. McVay added the issue wasn't known until Robinson underwent the aforementioned physical, and he's "very glad" the medical staff "caught it," per Rodrigue. If Robinson's absence extends into the regular season -- as it seems to be trending -- the Rams will be forced to reshuffle the defensive line rotation.
