Rams' Byron Young: Gets to the quarterback Sunday
Young recorded four tackles (two solo) including 1.0 sacks and a forced fumble during Sunday's 27-24 win versus the 49ers.
Young made a swift swim move around Colton McKivitz before connecting with Brock Purdy during his windup, creating a turnover and tallying his second sack of the season. He's off to a fast start in 2024 after a promising rookie year in 2023, and he'll look to keep piling up sacks at Chicago in Week 4.

Rams' Byron Young: Starts second season with sack
Young recorded four tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, during Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions.
After a 2023 campaign that saw the third-round pick rack up 8.0 sacks, Young came out against the Lions and got on the board in a hurry. On the Lions first drive, Young was able to sack Jared Goff on third down, forcing a three-and-out and setting the tone for the Rams' defense for much of the day. Young will look to continue rolling against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals in Week 2.

Rams' Byron Young: Stellar rookie campaign
Young logged 61 tackles (42 solo), 8.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery during the 2023 regular season over 17 games played.
A third-round pick out of Tennessee, the rookie outside linebacker stepped in and immediately produced at an elite level as a starter, leading all rookie edge rushers in sacks and establishing himself as one the anchors for the Rams at linebacker alongside Ernest Jones. Young may have a new counterpart on the outside, as Michael Hoecht is a restricted free agent, and the rest of the group behind them are unproven rookies and UDFAs, but Young looks like a steal after one season in Los Angeles.
