  • Cardinals' Marquise Brown: Not practicing yet

Brown (hamstring) isn't practicing Thursday but is down on the field watching his teammates, Josh Weinfuss of reports.

Coach Kliff Kingsbury said earlier this week that he hoped to get Brown back in individual drills by Friday and back to full participation by Monday. That could still happen, though it isn't looking great at this point. Brown's recent arrest for speeding is less of an issue, as it didn't cost him any practice time and isn't likely to lead to an NFL suspension.

  • Cardinals' Marquise Brown: Gets arrested Wednesday

Brown (hamstring) was arrested Wednesday in Phoenix on criminal speeding charges, Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic reports.

Brown has been slowed by a hamstring issue during the first week-plus of training camp, kicking it off on the active/non-football injury list before returning to drills Tuesday. At that time, head coach Kliff Kingsbury noted that Brown was being "eased" back in, but he was expected to be a full participant by early next week. Per Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, Brown wasn't present to the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, and the reason for his absence has now been revealed. When he's back on the field at 100 percent is still in question, but a legal matter now is plaguing him as well.

  • Cardinals' Marquise Brown: No full practice until next week

Brown (hamstring) will be eased back into practice after the Cardinals removed him from the non-football injury list Tuesday, with coach Kliff Kingsbury saying the wideout may not be a full participant until Monday, Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic reports.

Brown was on the NFI list for the first week of training camp after injuring his hamstring in a training session over the summer. He spent plenty of time on the injury report in three seasons with Baltimore but missed only three of a possible 52 games (including playoffs). The Cardinals don't seem too worried about his current issue, counting on Brown to be ready for Week 1 while fellow wideout DeAndre Hopkins serves the first game of a six-week suspension.

  • Cardinals' Marquise Brown: Removed from NFI list

Brown (hamstring) was activated from the non-football injury list Tuesday morning, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Brown can now practice with his Cardinal teammates, after missing the first week of training camp due to a hamstring injury he reportedly suffered during a private workout over the summer. He may be eased into practice with his new team, as there's a high recurrence rate for soft-tissue injuries -- and perhaps even more so for speed-dependent players. Brown has nearly six weeks to ramp up before Arizona's season opener against Kansas City, at which point teammate DeAndre Hopkins will begin serving a six-game suspension.

  • Cardinals' Marquise Brown: May practice next week

Coach Kliff Kingsbury is hopeful Brown (hamstring) returns to practice "next week at some point," Josh Weinfuss of reports. "I don't know when, but that's our hope," Kingsbury added Friday.

The Cardinals placed Brown on the active/non-football injury list Tuesday due to a hamstring issue, giving him a chance to practice at any point during training camp once he's healthy. With more than a month before the regular season, he'll have plenty of time to reach 100 percent, but getting back on the field will be the first step in that process. Once he's available, Brown is poised to serve as the team's top wide receiver Week 1, when DeAndre Hopkins' six-game suspension kicks in.

  • Cardinals' Marquise Brown: Opening camp on NFI list

Brown has been placed on the Cardinals' non-football injury list due to a hamstring issue, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

The wideout is eligible to come off the list whenever he is ready to practice, but Brown is now slated to miss some time with Arizona's training camp about to open. Once he's able to return to the field, Brown will look to cement his key role in an offense that will open the coming season minus DeAndre Hopkins, who has been suspended for six games out of the gate for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances. While Hopkins is out, Brown will be in line to serve as Kyler Murray's top downfield option, with A.J. Green, Rondale Moore and Antoine Wesley also in the mix for targets.
